While Marden was scheming with the hidden ruler of Yen-Lu, in the underground safehouse of the Shadow Sect, the conversation between Adam and the sect members continued.
A tense silence permeated the room as the subject of the conversation was none other than the ultimate hedgmon of this continent, whom no one knew anything about.
"So how long has he remained the hidden ruler?" Adam asked in a grave tone, his face underneath the mask shadowed by a perpetual dark frown.
"The exact time is uncertain," Grand Elder Li muttered solemnly. "We have only recently come to learn about him after our spies managed to infiltrate deep into the Arcane Alliance. But…"
"But what?" Adam pressed.
"If I had to make a guess," The elderly man continued. "Then, based on all the information, as well as our divination attempts, it is safe to assume that he has been ruling Yen-Lu since the dawn of the Arcane Alliance."
