Wagner couldn't help but come to a halt.
The structure that appeared before him was a tomb carved from a massive horned skull. Twisting horns rose from its crown, and the bone was darker than night, wrapped by otherworldly magic.
This was the skull of the ancient titan whose remains he had crossed earlier. Even after so many years had passed, the corpse still endured.
Wagner hesitated.
He knew he shouldn't have stopped, not even for a moment, to look at the ominous structure. But something about the tomb called out to him. It was strangely bewitching.
Even as he understood that lingering here was dangerous, his body moved on its own, drawn toward the skull.
The whispers in his mind grew clearer as he approached, no longer vague murmurs but faint suggestions, guiding his steps.
Each one promised answers, about magic, about the spirit world, about the mysteries of the cosmos, about this forbidden zone, about… a path home.
