The interior was dimly lit.
Pale lights embedded in the black walls illuminated the corridors, casting long shadows across the floor. There were no windows, no signs, no visible landmarks to help visitors orient themselves. And for good reason.
The moment Adam stepped inside, he realized that Fortune's End was no ordinary prison. The walls were moving. A corridor that had stretched straight ahead only moments ago suddenly narrowed as the walls slid toward one another. Further away, a section of the floor rose, forming a steep incline before connecting to another passage.
Then the ground beneath Adam's feet shifted. He instinctively steadied himself as the entire platform rotated, carrying them toward a different corridor. Luca also came to a wary halt. Only the pink-haired man seemed like he was taking a walk in the park.
Luca glanced around as the floor finally stopped moving. His expression was solemn as he asked, "Just what kind of place is this?"
