Shane blinked, momentarily stunned.
'Only her? Not the entire shelter?'
For a moment, he thought Katrina was abandoning her people, and the idea didn't sit right with him.
"Why only you?" Shane asked as he curiously looked at her eyes. She seemed innocent and wouldn't even think of something like that.
"Do you mean to leave the rest of them behind?"
Katrina's eyes widened, and she quickly shook her head. "No! You misunderstand." Her voice carried urgency.
She also realized how it sounded as she was almost desperate to clear the confusion.
She drew in a breath and swiftly explained.
"I know you have a Clan… The Eclipse Revenant Clan, right? I'm not exactly sure how many you can accept, but it should be around five hundred or so, if the rumors are true. And I also know you manage several shelters, with thousands of survivors under your command. What I meant is… I don't just want to join your shelter. I want to join your Clan. I want to be part of it."
