Qi Ruigang walked to her side and found a stool to sit down.
He reached out and searched through Mo Lan's wrapped coat, then pulled out a box of candies.
They were high-concentration candies, filled entirely with sugar.
Qi Ruigang opened the metal box, and there were three candies inside.
"Here, eat this. It'll fill you up like half a bowl of rice," he said to her.
Mo Lan asked puzzled, "Why are you carrying this with you?"
"This is a necessity, okay? If there's no time to eat, I have this."
Someone as busy as Qi Ruigang often misses meals, and when he gets hungry, he eats these. Otherwise, irregular eating could easily cause stomach problems.
Mo Lan took a candy and put it in her mouth, the sweet taste spreading on her tongue, yet her hunger also lessened a lot.
Qi Ruigang handed her the box, "Eat slowly, it's a bit overwhelming."
"You're not eating?" Mo Lan asked instinctively.
Qi Ruigang laughed, "I'm not hungry."
