A few minutes later, back in the real world, Noctua had explained what had happened during the brief time she failed to respond.
"So you're telling me something in that book hypnotized you?" Edward asked, pointing at the book in her hand while watching her scratch her head.
"Yes, that's exactly it. I was reading several books at once, but when I got to a certain page in this one…" With her other hand, Noctua pressed her fingers between her eyes, closing them and shaking her head slightly. "I can't remember. It's really strange… It should be impossible for me to forget something."
'Those two boys being so weak, those strange hands, and now a spirit who's supposed to be a living database forgetting something?' Edward walked past Noctua, placing a hand on her shoulder. "You should rest. If something like this happened, then it's best we don't dig any deeper into it for now."
