Chapter 94 - Chapter 094: Story With An Abrupt Ending

Hellfire (from the series Arcane League of Legends) `

"

Now that the two innocent children, victims of her constantly petulantly chaotic whims, had escaped her grasp for but a moment… She found herself alone.

No doubt it would not be long; she was far too self important to keep away from bothering others.

Especially when she had found new toys to keep herself entertained with. It was almost wondrous what the endless potential children truly held - even she had the primordial titan representing growth itself clearly could not fathom it. Else there was no excuse for her horrendous actions in the past.

Of course that could partly be attributed to her short sightedness as well as pettiness. Anything outside her understanding was often thrown aside as being "too dangerous" to be considered as being potentially beneficial to the world. Potentially better than she was for the world.

One would think the goddess of infinite held a lot of benefit to the world nevertheless it was hard to see herself as anything but a leech sucking away the future of others.

Choices were not something that held importance in her self imposed utopia.

As such… The loneliness she felt could be seen as truly wonderful for everyone else who had the misfortune of coming across her.

Any break from her was a blessing.

Looking around allowed the ex-Mother to see the representation of the one relationship that seemed to truly matter in her life. A system used to keep her back from getting absolute power within the mortal realm as even she knew it a bad idea. The best choice she had made was unfortunately one which was cut off due to the sacrifice of someone far better than she could claim to be.

So, standing alone looking upon that sun, the goddess finally took the moment to show some modicum reflection on her far too long life.

Faces of the people she had forsaken to a bitter life of unnecessary struggle flashed through her mind at speeds that a human couldn't comprehend. They would need to for how many she had let struggle during her long reign over the mortals. Dooming each one to have no control over their own lives.

All because she thought she knew better than any of them. Perhaps - now that she took the opportunity to truly let herself be confronted by such a reality - she began to feel something in that cold dark abyss she had the gall to call a heart. Ironic considering her relationship with the abyss itself was not grand.

Like many of those who tried to help her; she had all but burned the bridge with her mentors but at the same time clutched onto the frayed bridge with desperation.

Unwilling to let go of the bridge that she had destroyed in one of many tantrums she had.

Just as truly pathetic as most situations in her life.

Perhaps she truly deserved to be alone?

Everyone knew that no one deserved to be alongside her; a punishment so vile that even the sadistic bastard in charge of hell would hesitate to give it. How fitting that she should think of the very person who was her antithesis. A wolf-like bastard who was the only person more hated than she was.

With all the contemplation she had done several new questions appeared in her previously amazingly overly self-confident mind. Even her arrogance could not keep away the more pressing one. One that had her wander to the half baked sword she had produced on a whim then unjustly claimed as the best.

It could cut through everything but was also a power that she hadn't need to use in a long time - a sword that had cut down everything from her fellow dragons to her fellow primordial titan gods. A sword fitting for a sinful goddess like her. The sword was also perfect for her next thought.

Perhaps she should fucking kill herself.

"

The nameless god couldn't help rolling her eyes with a long drawn out sigh; bringing her hands up in a shrug as the silliness had grown to an unbearable point of pure cringe.

"As far as fanfictions go - I have read far better during my vacation." Shaking her head at a series of golden threads seemed to fizzle off her body as her infinite easily broke the tapestry that had been trying to literally string her along. "You really failed to get the main characters personality right, Cammy~♥"

Surprisingly her review was not well received by the source of the poorly written fiction. A figure that AC would claim as her psychologist appeared from a swarm of butterflies. Swinging what could only be called a butterfly short sword in an attempt to behead the goddess in one strike.

Iridescent blade, reminiscent of a butterfly's wings, glittered through the air to create a trail of rainbow light as it came towards the nameless one's neck.

Her only reply was to… Lift her hand with a single index finger raised; letting the blade helplessly impact off the fingernail. Not even being able to chip the surface of the nail despite the powerful explosion of rainbow sparks escaped from the collision.

"I can't help but feel like, perhaps, you do not like me?" Curiously tilting her head as she asked in what (at least on the surface) seemed like a completely innocent tone. Although Camellia seemed different from the calm facade that AC knew them for - face contorted in sheer disgust as the goddess' existence.

Their freehand shot forward, flicking their wrist to deploy another butterfly knife, attempting to stab their sword right through the eye tilted towards them.

Though she was as unconcerned as ever. Replying with a simple chuckle as she didn't even attempt to dodge as that iridescent gleam exploded up to extend the sword. Once it reached her eye it simply stopped abruptly as if the half-spirit had decided to relent on their attack.

Of course that couldn't be further from the truth as the goddess' eyes actually continued to move to look toward the blade attempting to skewer them. An act that could only be considered mocking as she let a long sigh escape her lips. "Kids these days really do have the darndest toys at their disposal."

Shaking her head which caused the second blade to be flicked away with enough force to send the attacker flying back despite how effortless it appeared.

"A knife that you just do swirly moves with to hide then reveal is really cute." Allowing an amused smile to find its way on her lips as she turned towards one of the strongest entities in existence. Yet also the one in the upper echelons who was in the most unfortunate position when it came to fighting her.

Surprisingly it was Camellia who spoke up, though only after they let the rainbow energy defuse from their knives which they then returned into their inner jacket. Moving a hand to brush through their hair while the other softly pinched the bridge of their glasses. "Still as insufferable as ever, I see."

"You knew that such things would have no effect on me so why did you even waste the energy of launching such a pathetic ambush on me~?" Raising a brow as she looked around the little pocket space she had made on a whim. Honestly not expecting the master of limbo to sneak in and jump her here.

Unfortunately they didn't grace the god with an actual answer - preferring to remove their glasses to reveal their eyes in their full glory.

A rainbow backdrop with simplified golden camellia's interlocking like gears in a complex clock. Rotating and pausing in synchro with one another in a beautiful display of engineering. "There is no greater case of nepotism than a manipulative sociopath becoming the ruler of the mortal realm due to her bloodline."

Shockingly… She nodded.

"Indeed I believe you would, in fact, have done a far better job at manipulating the masses than I ever managed to. I mean I literally can't relate but I'm sure you're happy to hear that!" Slouching over while pressing her hands in front of herself as if she were gifting her fellow god something.

Yet her actual face told a far different story as those cheeks unnaturally contorted in a massive toothy grin that she developed in a moment.

Making her look inhuman as it was truly a Cheshire grin.

"I do not manipulate people like you do!" They announced loudly while stretching both arms out as the patterns in their eyes appeared behind and expanding to form the inner workings of a clock. A clock whose face properly manifested in response to whatever magic they were casting.

Obviously there were twelve numbers around the clock, written in a language incomprehensible by the average mortal, with three of those iridescent blades of differing lengths making up the hands. Each turning at a different speed but at a constant pace. A constant gong echoing each time one of the hands fully rotated.

Due to the speed only the shortest & second (inverse of their speed) echoed with the grandness of the slower hand being far greater to the point where one could feel it in their bones.

Counting down towards when that longest hand would finally reach its own apex.

"Ara~ ara~ I wonder what crazy time related technique you've prepared for me!" True god not looking nervous at all as she simply stood there; having not fought back and clearly having no intention to change that as the chime of the clock began to echo. "Should you not be thankful as, if we didn't kill the primordials of fate and time, I doubt you would have such cool magic yohohoho~!"

That caused a twitch in the half-spirits lips as they glared at the goddess - grip on their glasses unconsciously tightening as everything about the goddess truly disturbed them.

"I simply cannot comprehend how a concept like yours could be twisted into something so damnable as what you've become. Primordial are meant to be incarnations of their attribute so how-"

Unable to finish as the goddess spoke up. "The infinite is, simply put, a mixture of a whole bunch of elements with the biggest one likely being evolution and growth. I am the strongest goddess of life but I also logically see the flaws inbuilt into the mortals so work around them."

"But you-"

"I think that is enough…" The cold methodical voice of a certain bartender erupted into the space and caused it to shatter into a thousand shards. Leaving the pair stood back in the God Hunter's club where they had both originally started out.

To say that the half-spirit was displeased was an understatement as they clearly had no intentions of halting as the face of their clock continued spinning. Getting ever closer to 12… Until a hand fell on their shoulder as the voice of another figure AC would recognise echoed out.

"Patience is a virtue my dapper comrade~♪" A certain nun-apparelled teaching assistant had somehow appeared under the notice of the True God who was now pouting.
