Chapter 43 - Tom and anna -9

The jet touched down on the small airstrip, and soon Tom and Anna stepped onto the island. There were no crowds, no noise—only the sound of waves breaking softly against the shore and the endless stretch of sky above them.

Anna looked around, her eyes wide with wonder. "It's beautiful…" she whispered.Tom smiled at her reaction. "I told you. No one here knows us. Just you and me."

They walked hand in hand toward the beach house that had been prepared for them. It wasn't fancy, but it was perfect—white curtains swaying in the sea breeze, a balcony overlooking the water, and the smell of salt in the air.

The first evening, they watched the sunset together. Anna leaned against Tom's shoulder, and for a long while, neither of them spoke. The silence wasn't heavy—it was the kind that felt safe, where words weren't needed.

At night, Tom lit a small fire on the sand. They grilled simple food, laughed when Anna tried to flip something and dropped it, and then just lay side by side, staring at the stars.

"This feels unreal," Anna said quietly."It's real," Tom answered, brushing her hair from her face. "As long as you're here with me."

The days on the island moved slower, softer. They woke up with the sunrise, the room glowing orange with light. Anna tried cooking with the fresh fruits they picked, while Tom teased her about being too serious about it. They swam in the clear waters, chasing each other like children, laughing until their stomachs hurt.

One afternoon, Tom carried Anna into the sea. She clung to him, half laughing, half scolding, but he only held her tighter. "I could stay like this forever," he murmured.Anna blushed and looked away, her heart racing.

At night, their closeness deepened. Away from the world, without any interruptions, Tom's tenderness became overwhelming. Anna felt both shy and safe, discovering new sides of him—how gentle his hands could be, how patient his eyes looked, and how his smile seemed to belong only to her.

On the last day, Anna sat on the sand, watching the tide. "Do you think this peace will last?" she asked softly.Tom sat beside her, wrapping his arm around her shoulders. "Maybe not always. Life changes. But no matter what comes, I'll be here."

Anna leaned into him, resting her head on his chest. The waves whispered against the shore, the sky turned golden, and for that moment, it felt like the world belonged only to them.

The island became their secret memory, a place they would carry in their hearts long after they returned to the chaos of life.
