Chapter 8 - It's been four years...

Unlike during the day, the hospital felt like a ghost town at night. The beeping noise from the monitors replaced the sound of human traffic that usually filled the place in daylight. Liberty enjoyed working there around that time of night because it meant she could also use this quiet time to study. Between her studies, clinical practicals and her part-time job, she hardly had time for a social life, but fortunately, she met Cleo in her first year and they've been friends ever since, her first ever friend.

She is usually quiet and respectful at the hospital, even when she's on the phone with her sister, she always manages to keep it hushed, but not this evening, "You are getting married???! To who??!", her pitched shocked voice echoed through the empty corridors.

She had never met this so-called person her sister had been seeing, she couldn't understand the mystery, and now she was engaged to him, "How could you marry someone I have never met before? Are you ashamed of me? Or him?", she was more panicked than angry. She is her only family and she was worried about her getting serious with a man who was not as serious, "Stella, shouldn't I have an opinion on this? You are my little sister and I would like to get to know the person you will be spending the rest of your life with..."

Stella sighed in pain, "I know sis. I promise you, I am trying to make it happen. But between his busy schedule, mine and yours, there's hardly a good time. But I promise this upcoming December Holidays, you will. It's just four months away.", it is not like she was lying. Something always came up whenever she tried to set up a meeting between the two of them. Her heart was not at ease either, they'd been seeing each other for three years and yet they'd never met each other's families.

Liberty exhaled defeatedly, yelling at her wasn't going to resolve anything, "Alright....this time it better be real, otherwise, I am hunting him down myself, do you hear me??"

She smiled through the screen, "Yess...I promise I will even help you."

"Good. I will not approve this marriage until I have met the groom. I mean even in these crazy dating shows, the groom always meets the family and sometimes even meets the bride at the altar..but family's approval always comes first."

Stella laughed, "Sis, don't you think you are relating too much to these reality shows...please get a boyfriend...before I decide to send you on one of these shows myself."

Liberty chuckled, "Oh please...by the way, I will be unreachable tomorrow. I am going to be shadowing Dr. Mors at the cricket game finals taking place here in the city. Everyone is raving about it! I am just excited to be in action...and working with Dr. Mors - she is truly amazing!"

The mention of the finals made Stella flinch, and suddenly her heart felt heavy, she promised her fiance that she wouldn't mention a word of what he does to her sister, but she was her sister, "Sis, I think you should know that my fiance is one of the-"

"Liberty, Dr. Cherry is asking for you.", a voice echoed through the phone making her cut her phone call short, "Stella, the director is looking for me...we will chat later okay, I love you. Bye"

Stella's smile disappeared with the blackening of the phone screen. She put it away feeling heavy with guilt, "At least I should have told her what he looks like." She was preparing for the bar exam that was around the corner, she already had a good offer from a top sports law firm, all of that and the stress of hiding her man from her sister were too much on her.

"Perhaps I should have also chosen a different career like Jenny.", she sighed thinking about her life.

Her doorbell suddenly rang, and her face lit up in an instant. Her escape had arrived. She excitedly got up to check herself in the mirror before going to open it, "Hey handsome...", she said to the handsome tall fit blond man who stood at her door, despite his dreamy blue eyes and perfect jawline, the thing that drew her to him was the way he flawlessly swing his bat on the field. The way he made his runs after hitting the cricket ball, it was like he was one with the wind. He was known to only hit 6s, and one day, that ball was caught by her and that is how it all started - a single glance and the rest was history.

A man with a dream to play for the national team and already had scouts fighting for him and endorsement deals coming in from all directions - he was really a protege.

He smiled handsomely, "Hey beautiful-", the rest of his sentence was cut short by the set of lips that suddenly stole his. Stella ferociously pulled him into the house without letting him breathe and his firm hands moved gently to her waist and then pulled her closer to his body, before effortlessly scooping her up to his waist. She wrapped her smooth legs around him as they kissed leaning against the wall.

The pants and moans from the kiss depicted a picture of two lustful individuals who spent the entire day looking forward to this moment, he pulled back panting heavily, "Okay-okay...let me breathe. Damn woman."

She seductively began kissing his neck, "You make me like this...just thinking about you, I get all sorts of ideas..like this", she got down from his hands, and slowly began to untie her nightgown gently dropping it to the floor, exposing her beautiful slender figure in a red lace lingerie that she specifically prepared for him- she is truly built like an hourglass.

His eyes became filled with hunger and lust, her body was whispering his name and he was listening, he growled, "You're going to regret that...", before fiercely whisking her from the ground to his lap.

As he warned, after he was done, she was left to her exhaustion - fully satisfied and all her expectations met. Their clothes were scattered around the wooden floor of the apartment and her head was resting on his bare chest,

"You always did know how to please me..", she breathed,

He placed a kiss on her forehead, "...and you always did know how to bring the animal out of me. You drive me crazy Stella. I spent the whole week looking forward to this--- sometimes I have to remind myself that you have a man just to stop myself from going mad...."
