Chapter 269 - The Capital City of Aroura Kingdom

Next day they travelled for almost half a day befor the huge towering city wall came into their view.

The outer wall was more than 50 feet tall and more than 15 feet thick. Guard posts were seen throughout the wall approximately situated every 20 meters from each other. Dozens of guards wers stationed in each posts ready to sping into action on a moments notice. Patrolling groups were seen marching from posts to posts battle ready.

"The guards were doubled because of the looming issue. If not for that we still have to keep watch for Beasts." Sharon explained.

Both Alan and Ben were impressed by the alertness and preparation. Even if the soldiers were reduced by half. It was still an impressive display of the city's strength.

The guards at the gate greeted the princess and her entourage warmly. "Welcome back, Princess. You are the last one to arrive. All the three Prince's arrived this morning with groups of strong men. Did you face any difficulties during your journey?" The concern was evident on the captains face while speaking.

Samantha smiled back warmly. " Although we had encountered a couple of hurdles, it was solved easily by the Two young men here. Meet Sir. Alan and Sir. Ben from Phoenix kingdom. They are the disciples of Grandmaster Harry Goldwin."

The guards saw the two young men for the first time and were taken aback by their appearance. They were tall, well built and extremely good looking. But the most eye catching part were their horses. One of the youngest guard gasped in disbelief. "Spirit beasts. These horses have attained magical abilities !"

Gasps rose around them again. This time it was from all others including the Princess. Although they thought these horse's were different, they had never imagined them as spirit beasts.

Alan and Ben had similar smile on their faces and nodded once in appreciation. "Good eye soldier, did you senses their mana? "

"Ye....yes Sir. I did. I can make out mana around the spirituality beasts." The soldier slightly looked embarrassed.

"Excellent! Princess Sharon, you may need to conside this soldier for your tamers group. He will become an excellent beast tamer if you can provide him with proper resources. " Alan turned to Sharon and informed her.

"That's a great news! Han bring him with us. Later, take him to the tamers guild and make sure he was taken care of properly."

"It will be done Princess. Soldier get a horse and follow us." Han, the guard captain informed the young soldier. Who looked lost and was in shock of all that was happening around him at such a rapid pace.

Coming out of the daze, he shook his head, bowed deeply in delight and shock, ran to get a horse. Once he was back, they started moving towards the Palace.

The main road was wide enough to accommodate Six wagons side by side. The pavement under their feet were neatly done. Both side of the roads were lined with huge and neatly arranged shops, Inns and taverns. Side road branching from the main roads lead to the residential areas and smaller shops.

The roads were bustling with people, moving carts and occasionally patorling soldiers. The sound of merchants shouting about their goods, people haggling and the buzz of talking filled the area.

After travelling for more than an hour on horse back, they reached a much smaller but still more than 30 feet taller Inner Wall of the city.

As imagined, the inner area was a place of beautifully arranged buildings and excellently kept landscape.

The inner area was much less crowded, buildings were huge and roads were cleaner. Soldiers, adventurers, guildmembers of many guilds along with members of wealthy familys were seen regularly. The Inn's were bigger and much better here compared to the outer area but the most eye catching scenery was the road leading to a tranquil lake in the middle of the city.
