Chapter 113 - Crazy Goblin

Summoning cards, despite their advantage of faster casting, have equally prominent drawbacks:

The difficulty involved in crafting summoning cards related to spatial laws is not to be understated. It requires twice the expenditure of mental power and mana compared to the regular summoning technique!

Thus, the crowd was astounded by Night Third's widespread distribution of small cards:

With so many summoning cards, how high are this individual's mental power and mana? And he is even a Black Iron?!

However, their attention quickly shifted to another astonishing revelation on the field.

Why do those 150 green-skinned dwarves with short knives look somewhat familiar?

"Goblins?!"

The adventurer among the audience rubbed his eyes, exclaiming in surprise.

It's already the year 9102 of the Holy Stone Calendar, and someone is still using goblins as summoned creatures?

Of course, this is not to discriminate against the combat capabilities of goblins. Although even the beast tribes are reluctant to admit that goblins are on par with their elite soldiers, a goblin centurion can still rival some elite warriors.

The main issue is that these greedy and lazy fellows have an extremely erratic nature. Even if summoned as creatures, they are prone to slacking off.

The most common thing is never to expect them to block attacks for the summoner. Running away in the face of danger is a common occurrence. The cowardice inherent in their race is particularly fatal in battle, as no one wants a situation where the minions run faster than the summoner when trouble arises.

"But what's the use of summoning over a hundred goblin laborers? Look at these skinny fellows; even the knives in their hands are rusty. Is it some kind of illusion?"

With a wave of his hand, Night Third, with his injured foot, deployed a hundred goblins to intercept the oncoming infantry, while the remaining twenty charged towards Shi Dangang, and thirty headed for the Blood Grand Year mass.

This summoning card move is a new skill he unlocked during this month. He achieved it by continuously consuming wheat, converting it into soul power, and then refining the soul power limit to three hundred points:

[Undead Card] consumes soul power ten times the normal maintenance cost to transform undead minions into cards. Normal maintenance cost is required when using them.

Initially, Night Third considered this skill somewhat redundant, given its high soul power consumption. Couldn't he just have his minions follow him around?

However, after experimenting, he discovered that once the minions were transformed into cards, they wouldn't consume soul power as long as they remained sealed. Moreover, he could reseal them at any time. It was like a portable version of a corpse-stopping cabin!

To make it even better, the skill provided a card album space for storing a large number of cards. With this album, he could bring as many as he wanted.

Unfortunately, the card album space couldn't hold anything other than undead cards. Also, minions revived by this skill couldn't be sealed. As for Bede and Shawen's achievements, they were beyond mention.

Otherwise, to save on daily soul power consumption, he might have added a few more cards to the album by now.

To obtain this skill, he spent a month continuously munching on wheat. In the middle of it, he even used the excuse of raising magic rats and black water toads, convincing Weng Ling to buy a large amount of wheat from neighboring villages.

The silly girl actually believed him, and brought back a bunch of low-quality wheat, husks still intact, claiming it was cheap and nutritious...

God knows how he survived that month, eating worse than a cow!

"Kill him!"

Night Third, grimacing in pain with his leg in hand, waved his hand, and the goblin knife-wielders rushed towards the approaching infantry and Shi Dangang.

Perhaps sensing the crisis, or hearing the warnings from the audience and teammates, or maybe finally having recovered enough mana, Shi Dangang suddenly opened his eyes.

"Ha ha ha, I... Huh? Damn!"

Before he could finish speaking, goblin knives fell on him. There was a series of thudding sounds of chopped meat, and a pile of minced meat immediately appeared where he stood.

"Continue attacking!"

Seeing that the arbitrator had not called for a stop, Night Third's heart skipped a beat as he continued to issue commands. Meanwhile, thirty goblins attacked the bisected Blood Grand Year, and the remaining twenty charged towards Shi Dangang.

Blood Grand Year itself had no mobility, soon following in the footsteps of Shi Dangang, chopped into minced meat. Yet, Night Third remained uneasy.

Because he noticed that those minced meat pieces actually coalesced into fist-sized meatballs, bouncing around the entire arena. One of them even slipped through the gaps in the goblins and melted into Shi Dangang's corpse.

"Phew! Wait..."

However, as soon as Shi Dangang's head had just taken shape, it was smashed into pieces again by the goblins waiting on the side. After five or six times back and forth, Night Third suddenly looked towards the infantry.

Perhaps sensing the crisis, those infantrymen, whose bodies were so tough that they could ignore the goblin knives, unexpectedly split into fragments again and surged towards Shi Dangang.

Due to the numerous, small, and fast-moving fragments, the goblins were momentarily unable to intercept them, allowing them to merge with Shi Dangang's body.

Just as the white light flashed, the rusted goblin knives striking against the stone seemed to produce a stream of sparks, and they couldn't prevent Shi Dangang from recovering.

With the humanoid form of Shi Dangang now restored, he grew to a height of two meters, his physique expanding significantly. What's more frightening was that with a casual punch, he smashed two goblin knife-wielders into powder!

Night Third stared in horror as the two empty cards in the album shattered, indicating that he had permanently lost those goblin knife-wielders.

That's money!

Night Third thought of the soul power and silver coins he spent training those goblin knife-wielders, his face twisted in a grimace. He immediately divided the remaining goblins into five rows and had them take turns pretending to slash at the air.

"Commanding goblins to slash at the air? Is he scared stupid by our lord?"
