When does healing kick in after a trauma or a break up?
A week?
Two weeks?
How about a month?
What amount of time is the appropriate amount of time to heal from having everything that makes you human ripped out?
When does your soul stop hurting?
When do I look at the little scar on my forehead and not have the memory of lying on a dirty bathroom floor, slowly bleeding to death?
When do I finally think of Stevie and feel nothing?
When do I think of him and find the sheer remembrance of his touch revolting and unpleasant.
When do I look at the same scar and think…grandpa died and I'm never going to see him again…never going to see him smile or be loud while watching movies with him or have him make silly faces until I smiled.
When do I look in the mirror and finally be past the fact that my father might bury him before I had a chance to say a proper 'hello granddad or goodbye, sorry I hurt you' a chance to say I made it back like I promised.
