Primary Universe Batman narrowed his eyes and said, "Do you think this could be a trap of greed?"
"It's hard to say. Even if it is a trap, you have no choice but to step in, because if Doctor Strange really gets the Infinity Gem, the initiative will be even more in his hands, which is disadvantageous to you."
"So this could be a trolley problem. If I intervene, he can set the trap; if I don't, he'll get the Infinity Gem."
"I'm afraid it's not that simple," Shiller continued. "He's not the Joker, he has no interest in putting Batman in a dilemma. He just wants to escalate conflicts and push the war into a heated stage quickly. So he's likely to take a big detour but make a move on the most inconspicuous things."
Primary Universe Batman pursed his lips and then said, "My counterpart has dealt with him, but I don't know much about him. In your opinion, what would he do?"
"He's not a mind power user, but he's very good at exploiting others' mental weaknesses. You could say every person around you with a mental flaw could be a breakthrough point."
"More specifically?"
"There are many kinds of mental flaws, but only a few can be exploited. To get someone to obey him, fear is the best tool."
Primary Universe Batman's body stiffened abruptly. He quickly stood up, rushed towards the door, and called out in his mind, "Ron! Ron! Stop Constantine!!!"
He arrived at the port where the Guardians of the Galaxy's spaceship was docked as fast as he could, but he only saw the Main Universe's Martian Manhunter. Martian Manhunter looked at him with some confusion and said, "What's wrong?"
"Has Constantine already left?"
"Yes. The controls of that small spaceship are not complicated, and it even has an autopilot system. I gave him a brief explanation, and he could operate it. He left not long ago."
Primary Universe Batman punched the wall, then said, "What about the other blond Constantine?"
The Main Universe Martian Manhunter seemed to be searching for something, and after a long pause, said, "He's in his room. What's up?"
Primary Universe Batman immediately returned to the lodging area as quickly as he could. He knocked on Strange's door, and Strange opened it, a bit impatient, and said, "What's up?"
Primary Universe Batman sighed inwardly. The reason he was looking for the black-haired one was that most of the blond ones were unreliable and didn't want to deal with him.
More importantly, these Constantines are like broken jars, having no desires, naturally can't be ordered around, nor would they do things properly.
Main Universe Constantine would help him because he still needed to operate in his territory later. The darkened Constantine was easily exploitable because he had lung cancer and urgently needed to escape death. And this bunch of Constantines, who neither belong to his universe nor care about cancer, are not so much responding to the call for battle as coming to visit brothels. Using them would only add spiritual pollution to himself and other superheroes, achieving no results.
But now, he had no choice but to use them. Primary Universe Batman said, "I have a task for you, retrieve that black-haired Constantine from before, and don't cause too much commotion."
"What's wrong with him?" Strange asked leisurely.
"He..." Primary Universe Batman couldn't say what was wrong with him; he just realized that the long-term torment of illness and the fear of death had left Constantine's mind riddled with holes. Once greed took advantage, the consequences would be disastrous.
Even if he wasn't affected now, just throwing him into the cosmos like this, he would eventually be targeted by greed. By then, not only would they lose a great asset, but the other side might also get the Infinity Gem.
"Alright, I can help you this once, but remember you owe me a favor," Strange said. "Get me a spaceship, ideally faster than the one he had."
"You can't use magic... Alright, I know you don't want to use it. Go to the hangar."
Watching Strange leave in the spaceship, Primary Universe Batman felt a lurking unease. Though Batman's logic was strict, he wouldn't ignore his intuition. He realized that the trap of greed wasn't so simple, and if he didn't do something, he'd always be led by the nose.
Primary Universe Batman lowered his gaze, slightly turned his head, and said, "Flash, go get Barry."
A flash of gold light passed by, and two figures appeared in front of Primary Universe Batman. He looked at the Main Universe Flash and said, "Now, you go to the Time Management Bureau, sneak in quietly, and release all the prisoners inside."
Main Universe Flash widened his eyes slightly. Primary Universe Batman then looked at Barry and said, "Find a Titan named Thanos, tell him Batman wants to talk."
"Thanos?" Barry frowned slightly, seemingly recognizing the name, then said, "Isn't that the same Thanos that serves as a deputy in the Intergalactic Alliance Department? I remember hearing about him on the broadcast."
"Yes, that's the newcomer deputy. He might be quite dangerous. I wouldn't trust any other Flash to go. If you go, he might be willing to talk."
"Alright." Barry agreed. As he was about to leave, Primary Universe Batman stopped him and said, "After you notify him, go find people from one of the Three Great Empires, any country will do, tell their Emperor Batman has something to discuss with them."
Barry nodded again. Then, Primary Universe Batman continued, "Here are addresses of several dimensions; normal methods cannot enter, but you can directly cut through space. Once inside, cause a disturbance, and a Demon God should come to you, tell them Batman wants to make a deal."
Barry glanced at the addresses and kept nodding. Finally, Primary Universe Batman said, "If they want to come, tell them to come to this location on Apocalypse Star; if they don't, think of another way to bring them. In any case, I want to meet them as quickly as possible."
After Barry left, Primary Universe Batman stood in place, softly saying, "Greed..."
What he didn't know was that greed was now right under his nose. Neither Constantine nor Strange took greed away with them; now he was standing before Darkseid as Mephisto.
"Good evening, Your Majesty Darkseid. Allow me to introduce myself; I am Mephisto, the Hell's Master. I've come today to discuss a business deal with you."
Darkseid stared at him and said, "You went through all this trouble to find me? Are you trying to sow discord?"
"No rush, Your Majesty, allow me to explain slowly. Your collaboration with Batman is merely to vie for a position in the Multiverse. But it's much more satisfying to fight the battle yourself than through others. Without going through Battleworld, you can still become a Multiverse-level entity. Or rather, with a simple trick, you could return to the position you originally deserved..."
Darkseid stood up, looking at him, "The position I originally deserved?"
"That's right. You should have been a Multiverse-level entity. As long as all your counterparts become your avatars, conquering the Multiverse will be effortless."
"You have a way?"
"Of course, and it's very simple," Shiller raised his eyes to him, "by then, without any interference from me, Batman would lose his value to you, wouldn't he?"
