Chapter 5013 - Chapter 4070: MU: Super Body Major Event (113)

They were a group of women: one wearing a green robe, holding a flaming spear sword; another with a wild head of green hair, her ten fingers were silver knives; one with a red cloak, holding a short stick; one in a black and white tight suit, wielding a long whip; and a blonde in a white tight suit, along with a woman who looked overly strong and fiercely intimidating, unlike a human.

"Zzz-la-z-la—Hello? Can you hear me? It's me, Natasha." A voice of the Black Widow echoed through the channel, she said, "Among Darkseid's Dark Elites, there is a trusted lieutenant known as Kindly Granny, who leads and trains a special force called the Revenge Goddess Team. They are skilled in combat and assassination, you'd better be careful."

"Is the intel reliable?" Steve asked.

"Rest assured, it was sold to us by a non-combat universe, and the middleman is reliable, there should be no problem."

"Give us the real deal," Stark said, "What was the deal with that flame and knife light earlier?"

"The flame came from Bernard's spear, that's the guy in the green robe, her superpower dagger can burn the internal enemy when pierced, once you're hit, it's almost impossible to escape. The knife light came from Mad Harriet and Gilotina, the green hair and the woman in white uniform, both have the ability to cut things."

"Additionally, you need to be cautious of that particularly strong one, her name is Heavy Step, unimaginably powerful, those boots can crush any dense material, even your metal battle armor won't be spared, better stay away from her."

The group collectively felt a chill, not sure what kind of enchantment Batman had fed Darkseid to release so many of his elite forces intact.

But when you think about it, didn't Asgard go all out to help them? You can't allow the ruler to set fires without letting the common people light their lamps.

Stark tried to buck up and then said, "These women are pure assassins, right? How are they turning invisible?"

"They have undergone the most rigorous training, hence they're very skilled. You don't have experience dealing with such assassins, so it's natural to lack precautions. As for invisibility, they haven't shown similar abilities in battles in other universes, either Prime Universe Darkseid is exceptionally formidable, or…"

Natasha didn't finish her sentence, but everyone could hear the subtext: or it's Batman's technology.

Though Stark felt that Prime Universe Batman wouldn't go this far, but now it's pointless to argue over who's responsible, they had to find a way to break through. The energy turbulence can maintain for only a very short period, if those people slip back into invisibility, they'll be slaughtered like lambs.

"Hold the line first," Steve said.

"But we can't spread out now, or they'll pick us off one by one."

"They lack frontal combat capabilities, otherwise, they wouldn't resort to assassination, so let's weaken their front-line power as much as possible," Stark stated, "Let's pretend to spread out, you cover me, I want to throw a few things over."

Iron Man and Captain America immediately coordinated with his actions, they deliberately acted anxious, eager to maintain the front line, hurriedly scattering.

At this time, the effect of energy turbulence hadn't ended, the Revenge Goddess Team was very cautious, didn't charge into combat head-on. They were too few in number and lacked the experience to cooperate with other superheroes, making direct confrontation impossible, so they kept waiting for the disruption effect to end.

Taking this opportunity, the Marvel group reformed their formation, and Iron Man pretended to take this chance to seize the line back, charging forward vigorously, firing bullets and lasers as if they didn't cost a penny, clearing a large empty area in the front.

Noticing that the line here was about to be breached, the opposing superheroes hurriedly rushed over, trying to maintain pressure. Wonder Woman was the first to fly over, followed by the remaining Green Lantern and Martian Manhunter.

This was the edge of the mechanical defense line, although there wasn't a big shield, there were many small robots. Most superheroes who fought long in such an environment didn't pay much attention to those tiny drones, especially those like Wonder Woman, Green Lantern, and Martian Manhunter whose body strength was immense and had energy shields, small robots couldn't break through their defense at all.

If they had to dodge even such robots, they'd have no room left for tactics, hence most relied on shields and physical resilience, this time was no different.

But what they failed to notice was that two small drones flew faster than the others, grazed past them and headed to the rear of the superheroes.

The two sides soon engaged at close quarters, Wonder Woman swung her whip, Iron Man charged his hand cannon, exchanging attacks, cannon fires, and divine power intertwining, no one noticed the situation at the back of the battlefield.

Just then, a scream suddenly broke out from the back of the DC Heroes Formation, Wonder Woman and others immediately recognized it as a voice from their counterpart, so they turned back, and saw a mecha clasping a Wonder Woman from behind.

The mecha's reactor at the chest flashed, a bright beam pierced through Wonder Woman's chest, she couldn't even let out another scream before turning into white light.

Wonder Woman and others were stunned, as the caught Wonder Woman didn't even resist, didn't even deploy her Divine Power Shield, and was simply sent back to the spring, this was clearly not normal.

Previously when Main Universe Wonder Woman was pinned down by several Captain Americas, she could directly use her divine powers to repulse everyone, this was her best defense mechanism, ensuring that she wouldn't be held down by anything.

In the past, when other enemies fought against Wonder Woman, they always used her own lasso to bind her, and not without reason, because using other things to bind her often didn't work.

But this peculiar mecha could directly restrain a Wonder Woman and kill her, proving that this thing possibly has a method to dissolve divine power.

"Disperse! Quickly disperse!" the Amazons shouted, "Green Lantern! Cover us!"

Without her command, the Green Lanterns began attacking the mecha. Before long, a Green Lantern in the back screamed in agony, followed by a series of screams and curses.

The people in the front didn't know what was happening, so they quickly turned around and saw a massive mecha emitting yellow light had swallowed a Green Lantern whole.

Indeed, just like how Tony Stark enters his mecha, the front of the mecha opened up. It caught up with the Green Lanterns, using ejected mechanical tentacles to grab them and pull them inside, then closed the front door, and the Green Lantern was instantly engulfed in the yellow light, turning into a white glow.

The scene was so brutal that the Green Lanterns screeched in panic, running away without being able to help Wonder Woman. The Martian Manhunter wanted to assist them, but Iron Man countered the Martian Manhunter because Iron Man's weapons were firearms.

Iron Man's weapons were also modified and enhanced, abandoning ground combat gunpowder shells in favor of thermal melt shells, which, although lacking visible flames, possess temperatures hundreds of times greater than normal fire. The heat alone was enough to stop the Martian Manhunter from advancing.

Because of the eagerness to save teammates, the Martian Manhunter suffered a reduction for the first time: a Martian Manhunter attempted to swat away the mecha chasing Wonder Woman but unfortunately got hit in the back. The extremely high-temperature thermal mortar directly melted his chest cavity, and he too turned into a white glow, exiting the battlefield.

It was now the Martian Manhunter's turn to be frightened. They already feared fire, and being burned to death was considered the most terrifying demise. With Iron Man's weapons being more dreadful than flames, even the Martian people's bodies would be burned and melted, so the Martian Manhunters screamed and flew back.

Without the help of superheroes to press forward, the mechanical defenses pushed back once more, and Iron Man and Captain America rejoined the ranks of superheroes. Though The Goddess of Revenge team became invisible again, they had no way to deal with the turtle formation and could only throw daggers from the outside, which were all blocked by Captain America's shield.

Seeing the situation improve, Stark breathed a sigh of relief. But just then, JARVIS suddenly connected to a communication from Peter.

"Tony, I have a bad feeling, you need to get out of there!"

"What?"

"I don't know, I..."

Stark wasn't actually asking why; he was looking for something to do while running. He always had complete trust in Peter's judgment of danger. Even before Peter finished speaking, Stark had already dashed several hundred meters away.

Most people didn't know what he was doing, but those from the Central Universe were all cowards in their own ways. They knew that enduring infamy for too long would lead to getting beaten up, so they always stayed alert on the road. They didn't know why Stark was running, but they decided to run anyway, sprinting in all directions.

When they began to flee, some who were unaware of the situation thought something was wrong, so they followed suit, and the turtle shell's outer layer shrank in an instant.

Main Universe Captain America was about to reprimand them, but then he saw a red light flash across the distant horizon.

Within mere fractions of a second, he sensed something amiss and rushed outward, but it was already too late.

The Omega Ray, traversing time and space, swept across the base's sky. In an instant, all existing things in contact with the Omega Effect vanished, including dozens of superheroes standing together to avoid the ambush.

There was no sound, no screams, not even corpses or ashes. The intense white light that emerged simultaneously was like a stairway to heaven, dazzling to the point people couldn't open their eyes.

The quick-reacting Main Universe Captain America, who escaped by a hair's breadth, was left staring in shock as he turned back.

There weren't many survivors; even counting those from the Central Universe, there were only about twenty or so, meaning this attack wiped out dozens of superheroes, an unimaginably devastating loss.

Main Universe Captain America's hand trembled, and even though the life support field hadn't failed, he felt like he couldn't breathe.

And Stark, who had been the first to run, reacted the fastest: "This is Darkseid's conspiracy! He sent The Goddess of Revenge team not for assassination but to force us into a defensive cluster, then wipe us out with the Omega Ray!"

The others were speechless, only Steve clenched his teeth and said, "Such a huge loss... we'll face a military court! Now there's only one solution, and that's to take them all down—Tony!!!"

Stark pulled out his chest's core and violently inserted the dense magic-powered core. The next second, a massive phantom appeared in the sky, the Iron Demon God, descended.
