Chapter 5408 - Chapter 4438: Project Far Star (17)

More Yellow Lantern energy surged into his body, followed by a new round of slaughter and transformation. Victor stored a large amount of Green Lantern energy within himself, then grabbed Hal's arm and poured all the Green Lantern energy into the ring.

But it still wasn't enough. This would only allow Hal to have enough energy the moment he regained consciousness, but the key to resurrection was still the Mother Box.

Victor began to try using the Green Lantern energy within himself to communicate with the Green Lantern energy inside Hal. He first controlled the Green Lantern energy in Hal's body to repair him, restoring all previous injuries.

But even this only resulted in an intact corpse. What was the true key to resurrection?

Victor desperately tried to recall. Quickly, some memory fragments began to emerge from the depths of his mind—how could he forget he had died once too?

It wasn't until this moment that Victor realized that his father hadn't healed him but had resurrected him.

Previously, due to his mother's death, Victor never dared to think deeply about this memory, but now he needed to revive his companion, so he had to suppress his sadness and fear, and search for clues in this memory.

Fortunately, he did find something. The key was that before he regained consciousness—in other words, before he came back to life, he had a vague memory.

This memory didn't belong to him; it belonged to the Mother Box. He felt himself first being placed on a table and then picked up... and then what? What happened next???

Victor continued to strive to recall. At that moment, his memory overlapped with the Mother Box's memories. A strong white light—a massive heat energy—was both the start of his memory and the end of the Mother Box's memory. Heat energy! Massive heat energy was the key to activating the Mother Box!

His father used this principle to fully activate the Mother Box and merge it with his body. But where could he find massive heat energy now?!

Victor looked around, seeing only desolation, nothing, not even a volcano. Just when he was extremely anxious, a voice suddenly sounded:

"Encountering trouble, little one?"

Victor was taken aback, the voice was unfamiliar yet familiar. He thought for a moment—wasn't this Lex Luther?!

Wait a minute! Victor suddenly stood up. The Luther Group had factories; they nearly monopolized Metropolis's energy industry, and surely they could get enough heat energy there!

"Listen, Luther, I don't have time for your nonsense," Victor said, "I need a massive amount of heat energy to activate the Mother Box and revive Hal, where is your energy center?!"

"Energy center? That place doesn't have anything useful, just follow my coordinates now, there's a seabed thermal energy pipeline of the Luther Group there, the output energy will be enough for you."

Victor hoisted Hal and flew towards those coordinates. On the way, he asked Luther, "Have you been monitoring us?"

"How could it be? I just tidied up the previous mess, intended to see what you were doing, only to find you've made an even bigger mess! What's with all these monsters?!"

"I don't know either, but that's not the question now." Victor judged the direction and found the location was right here, so he dived into the seabed with Hal and indeed found the seabed thermal energy pipeline Luther mentioned.

"What do I do? How do I get the heat energy from here?"

"Of course by doing what you destructors are best at—cutting it off."

Victor hesitated no more, roared, and shot a laser from his eyes, directly cutting open the massive function pipeline. A large amount of heat energy spread, instantly boiling the surrounding seawater. Victor neither flinched nor dodged, instead, he carried Hal toward it. The massive heat flux instantly burned most of his skin off.

Victor let out a fierce scream, followed by his muscles dissolving, exposing his bones. He was almost burned into a skeleton. However, the Mother Box, under this powerful heat energy, emitted increasingly strong light, and this light not only preserved Victor but also revived Hal directly, just as it had resurrected Victor back then.

As soon as Hal woke up, he felt unmatched heat. He instinctively drove the Green Lantern energy, luckily, Victor had already filled his ring. The next second, the Green Lantern energy carried them to the surface.

Victor's injuries were not fully healed, his remaining half of the body's skin and flesh had fallen off, exposing much of his ribs, and his beating heart could be faintly seen.

Hal's eyes instantly went red, not due to sadness, but because of rage, damn Savage Wolf!!!!

Fortunately, the Mother Box was continuously repairing Victor's body. Hal already noticed, this seemed to create a deeper connection between Victor and the Mother Box. But now he didn't have time to worry about such matters; he couldn't even avenge Victor because right now he had to protect Victor.

Savage Wolf hadn't given up; even under the siege of several Green Lanterns, he kept charging towards this side. If Hal rushed up recklessly, he might get caught by surprise and Victor might be captured again. So the best way now was to leave with Victor.

Hal wrapped them both in Green Lantern energy and flew toward the city. He needed to find a safe place to land Victor. And out of trust for Wayne, the first place he thought of was, of course, the Justice League's base.

And when he landed in the center of the base's courtyard and saw Shiller on the left and Doomsday on the right, it felt like the sky was falling.

Doomsday had re-evolved to a normal body size, much smaller than before, only slightly larger than a regular person, and was currently munching on a giant donut with the group of police. Shiller was brewing coffee for them nearby.

Hal couldn't help but close his eyes; he must be dreaming! How else could he be seeing a group of people sitting in the Justice League's base, drinking coffee and eating a donut? More importantly, why on Earth was this damn donut so big?!!

If it's not a dream, then he's definitely high; if he's not high, then he must have eaten some hallucinogenic mushroom. Everything was just too nonsensical.

But shockingly, the protagonist from his dream walked up to talk to him. Shiller sized them up and down, then said, "Are you guys okay?"

Hal was thinking, "I really don't have time to mess around with you." He bypassed Shiller directly, heading to the base's basement, placing Victor on the lab bench, and soon Victor would recover.

Hal flew out again. Today, Doomsday must be defeated!

Watching Hal's back, Shiller took out his phone and said, "Final group fight, aren't you coming?"

A low voice came from the other end of the line: "On my way."

Flying back to the beach, Hal didn't rush to awaken the others because he realized his previous strategy was wrong—it was not to attack Savage Wolf first but to drive off Parallax first, so everyone would not be mentally disturbed, and then they could all deal with Savage Wolf together.

And as for how to drive off Parallax, Hal didn't have to think much about it. Thanks to Victor's conversion, his ring was now overflowing with Green Lantern energy. He charged like a green bullet, directly crashing into Parallax's head.

Parallax let out a cry of pain, immediately extending its tentacles to grab Hal. However, Hal was agile, landing a kick on the left and a punch on the right, pushing Parallax back constantly.

Savage Wolf obviously realized something was wrong. If Hal managed to drive Parallax away so smoothly, once the Justice League members woke up, although they might still not be able to defeat him, it would certainly greatly delay him. What he feared was not the Justice League, but the deadline set by Darkseid.

So he gritted his teeth, stomped his foot, headbutting the leader of the Green Lantern Team flying at him, and with a swoosh, soared into the air.

This time, Hal was wiser. More importantly, Savage Wolf was anxious; the previous wave of fear disruption was not in vain. To stop Hal, Savage Wolf lost his head, focusing solely on pursuing Hal, and Hal kept leading him to hit Parallax.

Although he didn't restrain Parallax, the brute force was painful enough. Parallax was hammered into howling, constantly retracting its tentacles, wanting to escape.

Hal seized the opportunity, chasing Parallax beyond Earth's atmosphere. The other Green Lanterns also noted the effectiveness of this tactic, encircling Parallax and releasing Green Lantern energy, dragging him out of the atmosphere.

"It's up to you guys now!" Hal shouted.

He quickly returned to Earth, ready to awaken the others. Savage Wolf could only follow him back because he knew he couldn't let Hal awaken the other members of the Justice League.

The two continued to exchange blows, kicking and punching each other aimlessly, both unwilling to let the other return.

At this stage, both sides were exhausted. Though Hal was shielded by energy, grappling with such a massive creature left him battered. Despite Savage Wolf's superior body technique, after days of continuous battles, he was running out of energy as well.

Yet both held onto their last breath, unwilling to give in, thinking that just holding a little longer would definitely defeat the opponent. Thus, they fought with all their might without reservation, reaching the final sprint stage of the battle.

Hal was the first to reach the beach. He roared, Green Lantern energy surged, clearing away the residual Yellow Lantern Power, awakening everyone.

While they were awake, the experience had evidently taken a toll on their spirits. Everyone looked pale, staggering. But seeing the ferocious face of Savage Wolf scared them awake.

Arthur grabbed the golden trident, Diana picked up the sword and shield again, Ron took a deep breath, a laser beam shot out, sounding the final battle horn.

All the heroes charged forward, attacking Savage Wolf. Savage Wolf did not shy away, blocking the laser with both arms, punching Wonder Woman away, kicking Martian Manhunter as he approached, dodging Green Lantern energy, quickly elevating his stature to evade the rapidly rising sea level.

Ron repeated his old trick, headbutting Savage Wolf again. But this time, Savage Wolf was prepared, pretending not to notice but clawing at Ron's chest the moment he exited his intangible state.

"Ugh!!!!"

A blood-red hole appeared in Ron's chest. Gritting his teeth, Ron re-entered his intangible state, pushed away, taking several deep breaths. Diana swung her sword at Savage Wolf's arm; Savage Wolf failed to retract his hand in time, but the Fire God Sword only left a shallow cut on his arm.

However, Hal seized the timing, swiftly slicing with a green energy-formed Sharp Blade, with Arthur blocking his retreat. Savage Wolf's left arm severed, blood spilling over the beach.
