Old Bar and Karlo were in a confrontation, with waves of heat rolling off their bodies. They had just fought a life-and-death battle, and the meat walls around were full of large charred patches. The pungent smell of burnt flesh wafted through the passage.
"Comrades, vengeance, Paradise, death."
Karlo's mental state was even more unstable. What was once merely rigid had now developed into a blank stare.
"Failure."
Old Bar tore off his already charred arm, which gradually regenerated. He coldly stared at Karlo.
"Karlo, no, Contractor #12963, I give you one last chance to answer me. Does my son's consciousness still exist?"
Old Bar's eyes showed a pained look, as if viewing someone familiar yet unfamiliar.
"Heh, haha."
Karlo showed a stiff smile, with plant roots writhing beneath the dry skin of his cheeks.
"Your brat, has long been... devoured by me. Paradise... is not something you natives can offend."
