School dismissed Do Hee and Min Jae can be seen inside a luxurious car. Min Jae's facial expression was dull while Do hee acted very excited. She noticed Min Jae's sober mood and spoke
"Min Jae, are you okay?
Min Jae: Yes I am fine.
Do Hee: But you don't look happy.
Min Jae: I'm cool, just tired.
Do Hee: If you say so.
Min Jae: Tell me, why did Joo Hyuk drag you out of class and what did he say? (She pretended like she didn't have a clue)
Do Hee: Nothing, he only wanted to bribe me so I could get kicked out of this school but rather I made use of the situation for my benefit.
Min Jae asked her what she meant by that and she explained to her that she made use of the opportunity so as to get him to agree to partner with her for the assignment. "Oh, glad he accepted" She said pretentiously" and the driver drove off. They got home and Park Min Jae entered her room furiously, she took a shower, put on her cloth and sprang on the bed to rest as she dived deep in thoughts thinking about Joo Hyuk accepting to carry out the assignment with her biggest insecurity. However, Do-Hee was inside her room dancing to Asian music with happiness because she will finally be done with her assignment all cause Joo Hyuk has agreed. She picked her phone from her dressing table and unpacked her hair from a ribbon, stretched her hair, applied lip-gloss and commenced snapping mirror selfie shots. She stared at the pictures and smiled "Gosh, I think at this point I don't have to deny that I am beautiful "She said happily until she heard a knock,
"Who? She asked, "It's me Tae moo" Her twin brother answered and he was asked to come in.
"Hey sis, what are you up to? he asked
"Nothing, just snapping few selfies" she said
"You seem very excited, tell me what's the tea? he asked curiously.
"You remember the partnership assignment given to me that I told you about? she questioned
"Yeah, I do remember"
"Finally, I got that jerk's total submission"
"Are you serious?
"Damn serious my lovely brother" She said in English.
"Wow, interesting, and how did my smart sister pull this off? He asked as they both laughed
"Ummm….let's….let's say ("I can't tell him how I did it, he might think I am seriously bullied at school" she pondered in her mind") Well, (clears her throat) just know I applied my tricks, no big deal.
"Anyways, I am happy you pulled through" he said and hugged her while she replied with "thank you"
They went on discussing the scandal that broke out yesterday in their mother's music label, and whether she would be fine. Kim Do-Hee and Kim Tae-moo are fierce but kind, they always have this soft spot in their heart for people they love no matter how hard they try to hide it. Their mother was never there for them when they were growing up, they feel she flew them all the way to the states just to achieve her freedom here in Korea and focus only on her businesses and prestige, the last person they ever want to talk to or exchange pleasantries with is their mother "Mrs Kim Jun Ri" they view her like she is a monster and nothing less but who knows, they might get to understand her one day, the question is, will there really be a mutual relationship between them someday?
Nevertheless, it was dinner time for the Kim family and Mrs. Jun Ri, and her children were sitting in the dining area, ready to dine. Two of the cooks were still setting the meal on the table and a few minutes later they were done and exited, leaving two of the maids standing around the dining room in case their services would be needed. Mrs. Jun Ri was busy staring at her children while eating but it was obvious that they weren't looking at her, they were focused on their food, pressing their phones, and engrossed in it that she had to tap her hand on the table and they trembled.
"Why did you do that mum? Do-Hee asked,
"You both have been so engrossed pressing your phones that you forgot there is a plate to dine right in front of you"She retorted.
Do-Hee sighed before she spoke again "So now you just don't wanna control our lives and movements, you also want to restrict how we press our phones when eating? She let out rudely, "oh please come on mum, we ain't kids, this is us and you can't change that, besides I am enjoying the food" She completed her statement, but Tae moo kept mute still pressing his phone and eating like he never heard the voice of their mother.
"Whatever, there is a business class gala night set for high-class and important business industries this weekend, all families in suite of the classification are expected to be there, it will be a fun night and the president of Korea will be there, we are expected to come with whosoever we choose to come with that befits our class" Mrs Jun Ri broke the silence.
"Why telling us like we care" Tae Moo replied rudely.
"That is because you and your twin sister will be joining me on that very day" She said as Do-Hee choked on her glass of water and spilled it on the ground.
"Did you just say come with you mother? She asked and Mrs. Jun Ri nodded.
"You both heard me clearly, so please get prepared, I will have my designer create a beautiful magical dress for you Daughter, and you Tee Moo, will get yours too or you wish to shop for yourself? She asked.
"Come on mother, you can't literally force things on us, I don't wanna come and so be it" he replied.
Mrs Jun Ri licked her lips and spoke up sternly "The both of you should listen and listen good, if I do not attend that event with you two, I won't just cut your allowances, I will ground you from going anywhere, and this house will be hell, trust me to do that, what is even wrong with the both of you!!! She scolded, don't you know I am doing all these for your own good and benefit? You guys just came back from America, and you are the future Successor to all my accomplishments Tae-moo, same with you Do-Hee, and you think dodging official duties and events will do more good than harm, huh? Oh come on, let's stop deceiving ourselves here, you know it will cause harm to my foundation and not good, so please stop avoiding official works and topics because you will need it someday, maybe when I am not here anymore" She spilled and they remained speechless, at this point they could not talk back because they have already pushed her off her limits which led to scolding.
Kim Do-Hee stood up "Fine, we will go, but next time do not involve us in such schemes, we are not interested in any of your official bla bla whatever, (she smirked) I am not surprised, you have always cared about work and not even your parental duties" She spoke and stormed off angrily.
"If only you didn't fail us as a mother, all these unnecessary drama won't prevail" Tae Moo let out and walked out quietly while Mrs. Kim Jun Ri hit her two hands on the dining table angrily.
"Are you okay madam? One of the maids asked
"Get your filthy self out of my face you scum! She shouted at her and stood up.
"Make sure you clean up all these before retiring to bed, am I clear?!! She shouted.
"Yes madam" the maid replied shivering in fear before their madam stormed off.
Do-Hee entered her room and banged her door hardly, she sat on her queen-sized bed, and recalled the past when she was attending junior high-school at the states, and there was a Mother's Day event in their school, she craved for her biological mother to be there, but finally it was Mrs Kim Jun Ri's elder sister who they stayed with that showed up, meanwhile, Mrs Jun Ri promised she would fly over there very early so as not to miss the event, but she couldn't make it because of work issues. "Never there for us, always about her work" She hissed and smirked as she soliloquized. However, she stood up and stood right in front of the mirror again, this time not for selfies but to admire herself "Yuck, I have a gala night to plan" She said out loud, soliloquizing alone.
