"You know I see right through you, right?"

"What are you talking about…"

"Oh~ You don't have to play on my feelings. Saying things that make me emphasize with you, making me think "Oh, she's actually a good person", it's a waste ot time, really."

"So you admit to being heartless?"

"So what? Weather I am or not should be of no concern to you. I struggle to see how your thought process behind that. I mean, you're about to die, yet try to have an argument about morality. Isn't that hilarious?"

"Normal people get uncomfortable when confronted with their own insanity…"

"…Insane? I am perfectly sane."

"You don't seem so to me."

"Well who asked you? Why do you even exist? Did anyone ever want you to live? I can't imagine that to be the case. Your life is a mistake. A meaningless waste of space. And everything you do accomplish will inevitably be replaceable and mediocre."

"Sounds like I hit a nerve."

Yuki sighed as she leaned down on the handle of a sword which piecred through Petrisha's hand into the ground.

"You know, I don't get why some people act all tough when it's certain they are about to die. Like, the logical thing to do is panic. Which is weird because panic is usually an irrational reaction, but in a life or death scenario, it's actually the most rational response. I don't think I ever saw master panic… I'm sure he would want to feel that at least once, what do you think?"

"So you want to put him in a life or death situation…?"

"What? No way, I'd never do that. But maybe I can get him to panic by surprising him woth something… Ah, but why do I ask you? You have no idea what I'm talking about. You're just stalling for time. Of which you have very little left, by the way."

The clock struck 2.

"I'm not stalling… I literally can't move…"

"Yeah, but you are preparing an explosive spell beneath you, are you not? That's gonna hurt, blowing yourself away like that. All for me to just pin you down again in a couple of moments later. Don't you realize how pathetic that is?"

"But I have to try, don't I?"

"Eugh… Everyone always says that. No you don't have to try. If you keep on running against a wall, you don't have to try until you eventually manage to run through it. Just give up and exept yourself as failure instead of making a fool out of yourself. It's embarrassing."

"I wouldn't expect you to understand… You never had to work for something, did you?"

"There you go again with your act to humanize yourself… I. Don't. Care."

"Why aren't you doing anything then?"

"Pft, because I actually have a reason to stall time, you idiot. But then again, maybe you are so excited to see what is going to happen once the time runs out? It is quite exciting!"

The clock struck 1.

Petrisha created the by Yuki predicted explosion, blowing her into pieced and away from Yuki's grasp, where she regenerated from an arm.

"Ooh, bravo. What now? What will she do, without a weapon, without help, without time?"

Petrisha started rapidly punishing Yuki, who just laughed and blocked everything. Though there was a ridiculous amount of force behind each attack, Yuki did not have to worry about anything other than angelic weapons. Which there were none present, of course. Kicks, scratches, stone throws, all at the same time, but nothing came through. Everything either parried by Yuki's arm or her wings, which occasionally just swooped incoming attacks away and enabled Yuki to attack as well, which she never did.

"In case you did not get it… I'm the wall, in my earlier example. You're the idiot running into it repeatedly."

"Shut up!"

"Oh no, where did all your class go? Where you not supposed to be something like nobility?"

"I said shut up!"

"Ahaha~"

Finally, the clock struck 12 again. A bell rang throughout the entire town, and Petrisha stopped, expecting to just wither away. However, nothing happened.

"…What is going on?"

"What?! How could my spell not show any effect?! Impossible!"

"…Aha… Ahahaha! And to think I worried! You remain an arrogant dumb angel! I bet that you also—"

Suddenly, the marking on Petrisha's hand lit up, at which she just fell to the ground without a pulse.

"Just kidding~ Of course it worked, dumbass. What's that? Can't you regenerate through death? Haha."

Yuki snapped her fingers, at which Petrisha suddenly gasped for air, pulling herself up quickly.

"What was that?!"

"Shh! Let's do some more~"

Petrisha collapsed again, dead and motionless. And again, Yuki snapped with her fingers and Petrisha returned.

"Ahh! Stop doing that!"

"Hmm… Let me think about it…"

Once again, she collapsed and Yuki snapped immediately after.

"How are you—"

Not even letting her finish her sentence now, Yuki killed Petrisha just to revive her the next second. Repeating this in a routine like way.

"You—"

"How dare—"

"I'm going to—"

"You will regr—"

Yuki did not really pay much attention to her by now. She drifted off into thoughts about Yamato, which she said out loud since she was alone with Petrisha anyway, though she did not expect her to react to them in anyway despite somewhat addressing her.

"Oh, I wish master were here to see me show how much I love him… Even as I beat your identity to a pulp, I ask you to remember that it is because of your insults at the start that I had to take such drastic measures. I would have been happy to just kill you normally, for the record~"

Eventually she only waited for Petrisha to open her eyes and not even let her say a single thing. Eventually, she reached a pace of 200 times per minute, in a steady routine and an impressive snapping speed. If there were a competition for that, she might just make it to world champion. She continued doing this routine for five minutes, before her pace got even quicker, directly monitoring Petrisha's consciousness to wait for the exact moment she comes back to life, just to kill her immediately after. This raising her kill and revive per minute to an impressive 1000. During each death, she telepathically shared the word "bad" with her. Her intention being to create a traumatic connection between the word and the act of dying, which she found amusing and did for that reason alone.

While she continued her sadistic psychological torture, the demon that Yamato fought against tried to stand up, but failed miserably.

"You dare mock me… With something as dishonorable as poison… Who do you think you are dealing with?!"

"Honestly, I have no idea. But I studied your kind. Yuki's knowledge on you was quite extensive. Though she probably only learned about you so she could declare you inferior to her."

"That angel knows nothing about us…"

"Well… We shall see about that. According to my information, demons are bound by contracts, which is how lower demons gain limited presence in our world. Higher demons however may exist freely, through there are other conditions for them entering it in the first place. As the woman earlier declared herself archdemon, I will assume you too are one, and entered this world through an indirect contract with the nervous priest over there."

Priest Mateo was taken aback by the demons defeat, especially since his second demon still had not returned from fighting Yuki.

"I really thought they would be stronger… But it is of no concern to me! Behold, an ancient artifact that came into contact with angelic blood!"

Priest Mateo pulled his hand out of his pocket, revealing it to be pierced with spikes of a metal orb, which he held on with all his might.

"For generations, this orb had been a mystery to the church. But I, through noble sacrifice, was able to bind it to me and acquire its true strength! It is indescribable and cannot be separated from its host! What do you think of that, ahahahaha!"

"Sounds like it is an Unicum…"

"What are you mumbling?"

"Nothing… Except that you seem a bit clueless."

"Aha, I am clueless? Me?! You are the one that does not understand what I have become! See for yourself, what would happen if a regular human even comes into contact with its power!"

A burst of lightning shot from the orb, jumping across the ground towards Yamato, who once again blocked with his sword. However, this time, the sword melted, even if it absorbed the energy and protected Yamato from that single attack. But of course, a second one immediately followed. With no way of dodging, the blue lightning hit Yamato directly, who was just blocked with his arms but knew it would not stop the attack at all. Lucy tried to rush towards him, but she was too late. As Yamato opened his eyes again, he found that nothing had happened. Yamato looked around, touching the spot on his chest where it should have hit him, but there was nothing.

"What?! How dare you defy my will?!"

Mateo looked at the orb in confusion and irritation, attacking Yamato once again, it having the same effect as the previous ones. Black lightning sparks somehow nullifying anything directed at Yamato. Though it was more like they were a product of the nullification rather than the caus of it.

"What is going on?! Why won't you die?!"

"Yeah… I have no clue."

Mateo walked up to him, trying it from up close, at which Yamato just watched curiously. As that again only resulted in black lightning sparks, he just punched Yamato out of frustration. However, hand to hand combat was still in Yamato's favor, so he just blocked and punched Mateo in the face, who immediately went to the ground.

"That's unfair… It doesn't make sense… Why, why, why, WHY?! Demon, do something!"

However, the demon remained on the ground, despite trying to get up with all his strength, it just was not enough.

"No… I won't end here… I ascended! And I will remain ascended!"

Something approached through the surrounding debris.

"I did not come this far… This far, just to fail because of some unexplainable force preventing me from succeeding! That is not how this ends!"

Mateo forced himself onto his feet, driven by sheer determination. Mateo's determination was not without origin, as he had depended on said determination all his life. Going back as far as his childhood, where he survived in a world that was seemingly against him, not through luck, but by pushing through.

Something approached further through the surrounding debris, moving rocks aside as it was now almost at the scene.
