The silvery entrance facing the void rippled then the pebble that was the flying white-haired brown-skinned evolver flew out from its center to hover in the vacuum. The scene around was less lively than behind in the Path, but it was not because all the reinforcement had gone in to traverse to the other side.
The armada prowling in the void was more than a few times bigger than the fleet that had gone forward to take over the defense of the Path. But as it remained unmoving in the silent vacuum, only a sensation of oppression remained, a heavy sense of oppression akin to silent thunderclouds, or rather, a forest of spears ready to fly forward at any moment and destroy everything in its way.
Lucas paused slightly, swept his eyes over the displayed prowess of the Empire, then became a shooting star once again. The world slowed to a crawl in his perception as he flashed past the vessels of the armada, before he soon disappeared far in the distance.
