In the spaceship turned into a taxi —much to the displeasure and fierce inner resistance of a certain shapely squadron chief—, a soft chime rippled through the air, from the terminal of the female Commander.
*Ding~*
Lucas's eyelids rose. He did not see the message and had yet to hear its content from his hostess, but he knew that it was coming for him. What he had been expecting had arrived. The time had arrived.
"Sir, the request for the next action has come in."
"Is that so?"
Lucas glanced at the female soldier who had stopped suppressing the tremors born of anxiety in her body after they had jumped through the whole warzone a few times. He turned away, and continued flatly:
"Then let's go."
The eyes of the female commander flashed when she saw Lucas not ask anything nor any details about the call to action request. She pushed down any thoughts she could have, and turned to get her crew on the move.
