Chapter 186 - The power of Amplification

Amy doesn't even want to see Leon right now because she could already see how their conversation will go out since he is the type to escape responsibility saying whatever bullshit excuse he thinks would fool her. She wanted to check up on Melissa first with the assumption she will need help dealing with the aftermath, so she heads to the Mess Hall where she saw most of the uninjured students clean up the place using magic. As for Melissa, she is healing the injured. While she isn't the only one assisting with the healing, the injuries she is healing are the ones that take the most energy and with this many people, she would not get them all in time. It is clear she needs help, and her range is not large enough to heal them all at once. Amy could see that the injuries on all the teachers are not light at all. Some of them are most definitely going to take leaves of absence after this.

She walks towards Melissa, seeing that she is exerting herself to heal an entire hall full of people. She is reluctant to use this power, but she can trust her.

She grabbed Melissa's hand and to Melissa's shock, the power rushed into her like a powerful tidal wave. Everyone around her could feel this intense power but it is different than earlier. Unlike the Prince's and Rufus's power, hers is more nurturing and protective.

"Oh my gods, what is this?" Melissa whispered in awe.

"I trust that you can keep this a secret, okay?" Amy says tiredly before collapsing to the floor.

"Amaryllis!" Melissa shrieked and held her close.

"I can't control this power. Hurry and use it to heal everyone." Amy says weakly.

Guilt stricken, she got up, leaving Amy on the ground, and used her power on a large scale to heal everyone. Amy is struggling to stay awake and the light that Melissa is emitting and giving her is not helping.

"Are you okay?"

Amy looked at the source of the voice and saw it is Jennifer. The girl struggled to lift her up and put her at a nearby medical bed.

Too tired to retort, she closed her eyes.

Viola is a genius. While she was awake, she already memorized the roads and calculating the exact distance she has gone since her capture. Her spatial ability is incredibly useful for moments like these. So, she never dared to sleep until she has a plan. There must be news of her absence by now as it happened out of the blue in the middle of the day.

But she has no clue who kidnapped her or where she is going but as the saintess, she is obviously captured for her power. As for where she could be, she has been traveling for two days in a cage-like carriage barricaded by wooden planks. It has little room for her to stand. Whoever built this thing must be cautious of her and knows about the Purification Dance. She has very little light here but at least it gave her privacy to think and calculate by carving the planks with a small rock she picked up before she was taken.

She could barely see in this damn thing and if she could get it right then she would have accomplished the impossible.

"I can't find her. That girl must not have slept these past few days or she must have left the country." Caina laments.

"She's probably too worked up to sleep. Scared even." Boris said. "But this won't last much longer."

"Or planning something." Alabaster added, "the girl is smarter than you'd think."

"Regardless, there is nothing we can do if she can't sleep. No one can track her." Amy sighs, "At least she is alive."

"The Peonies all report that she is nowhere found in the farther cities and villages in Getel." Alabaster reported.

"I talked to Alina about Viola's kidnapping. She is secretly assisting with the matter. She has enough influence and power to do that now." Amy noted then seem hesitant. "I always felt her presence somewhat unless we're too far apart. I could sometimes feel it until a considerable distance when I was traveling by sea. There is a chance that Viola could have left the country."

"That is possible. I'll see if I could find any more help in surrounding areas."

Amy is glad to know that she has more support and an information network now though her identity as the center is a secret that only her inner circle knows. She trusts her people to get it done. She is not worried about her sister's life. If someone wants her dead, then it would have happened in her room. But the fact that someone actually manages to kidnap her is still alarming because it would take a sophisticated plan to get that done.

"I wonder if that Jennifer girl has something to do with it." Boris says.

The four of them paused with apprehension.

"Well, I can't say for sure. I just met her." Amy shrugged.

"Though I admit, she is a suspicious individual. I wouldn't be surprised if she had a hand in her kidnapping." Caina agreed then look at Amy, "You want me to look into her mind?"

Amy shook her head, "Focus on finding my sister. Her whereabouts and safety are your priority. Besides, I wish to know her myself."

Alabaster tilts his head at her, "You are invested in her. That is quite rare since not many catch your eye. Do you wish to recruit her?"

"It is not about recruiting her. I am just curious about her character and her motives."

The carriage came to a stop and the mercenary opens the door and sunlight burst in full brightness, but the light hasn't completely covered the inside of the carriage, a shadow covers the girl's body that is sitting at the corner, so she is unresponsive.

Another mercenary pops in to look at her with a tray of food but her view was blocked by the other. "Don't look at her. Her identity is to be kept secret."

"Uncle, who is she and why is she so important that the carriage had to be completely covered?" The mercenary asked.

"She is a saintess."

"She's Getel's saintess? Then that means she's Lady Cassandra" the mercenary tilts her head to look closely from her uncle's body blocking the way, "She's younger than I thought."

"It could be her successor. There are rumors that Lady Cassandra's health is declining." her uncle said. "Now put the tray down. She will come and eat if she wants to live. She is probably too weak since we've been traveling non-stop for days."

The mercenary frowned at the conditions. This is even worse than a cage. There is almost nothing in here. No necessities, a bed or even windows. "This is inhumane. How is she supposed to survive like this?"

"Look carefully."

The mercenary saw that there is no smell. It has been days of travel but no smell of excrements or body odor. The Uncle smirked at the mercenary's puzzled expression.

"That is her power. She has the power to erase anything. This is why the carriage is so clean."

"But still..."

"We have a job to do Elizabeth. We have to meet at the rendezvous point soon. Keep an eye on her in the meantime." Her uncle says and left her alone.

Power to erase everything. That is quite the power. She stared at the girl and felt a sense of deja vu from it. The shadow obscures the girl's appearance, so she isn't able to get a proper look at her and hopefully wake her up to get this girl some fresh air.

Her hair is unique. Other than that, she has familiar features, so she got in to take a closer look and is shocked to see her awake.

The girl opened her eyes to glare at her.

"What do you want?"
