Chapter 106 - Back

Two months had passed since both Harry Potter and Fleur Delacour won the Tri-Wizard tournament, sharing the eternal glory of succeeding where most others would have failed.

There were a few people who didn't like the tournament's conclusion and tried to discredit the couple.

But try as they might, they couldn't really attack the shadows, and that's what Harry Potter and Fleur Delacour have become after the tournament.

A few minutes after being portkeyed back in front of the awaiting crowd, the couple received the promised one thousand galleons and simply disappeared. What was even more surprising than their actions was the lack of display that followed magical transportation. There was no cracking—almost like a gunshot sound, nor was there any flame.

"Are you sure you want to return to Hogwarts, love?"

Harry looked up from the copy of his Daily Prophet.

Fleur was as breathtaking as always.

Golden locks of hair cascaded down from her head, as if there was a cataract of pure gold originating above her skull.

She was wearing a light blue frock that emphasised not only her mesmerising blue eyes, but also her slender figure.

To put it crudely, Fleur was hot.

'Very hot. I'll never understand how a git like me managed to catch her attention,' Harry thought as his eyes wandered appreciatively.

"Quite staring," Fleur said with faux annoyance. In fact, if the dazzling smile she was wearing was any indication, she was enjoying her boyfriend's attention.

One could call out the brazen, and typical of a woman, way of talking.

Thankfully, Harry was wise and did not voice out his thoughts.

Instead, he said: "Oh, but dear. How can a mere mortal, such as I, look away from the exquisiteness that is you?"

That got him another dazzling smile… which was shortly followed by a sharp pain in his head.

"Don't mock me, Harry," Fleur whispered dangerously as she stowed away her wand.

Of course, Harry wasn't just joking as Fleur mentioned, but what was a man's honesty in front of a woman's brutality?

Also, Harry had just found out, ritually stronger or not, getting hit by a stinging hex in the head, hurt.

"If I must," he eventually replied with a hurt look.

Needless to say, Fleur wasn't the only one with strong weapons in her arsenal, and a few moments later, Harry managed to get her to apologise.

"Fine… I'm sorry for hitting you with a stinging hex."

"No, you're not. I know that you don't love me anymore! That's it, isn't it?" Harry said heatedly.

By the looks of Fleur's expression, he was doing very good.

"Merlin, oh Merlin. HARRY! I love you!" she almost shouted, prompting Harry to smirk in victory.

Two could play that game.

'I suppose we should get serious, though,' he thought, and his smile diminished a little.

Harry looked back at his newspaper, noting the worrying title of the first page.

'DUMBLEDORE VOTES AGAINST MUGGLEBORNS FOR THE THIRD TIME THIS WEEK.'

While Harry couldn't care less about the old man's coming and goings, something like that wasn't normal, even for him.

Raising his gaze back at his girlfriend, Harry noted her tense jaw and the way her pinkish lips pressed together. She was anxious, but not overly so.

"No, love. Of course I don't want to return to the school again, but I don't think I have any real choice in the matter. Our horcrux hunt has been stagnant since the end of the tournament, and we have to do something. Also, whatever's happening with Dumbledore must stop."

If only there were a spell that could show the caster where the rest of a soul was… Harry didn't know of such a spell.

However, that didn't mean he couldn't try casting it with nothing but intent. With his ability to see and feel magic, it wouldn't take him long to master the said spell.

But alas, he was wary of blindly dabbling with soul magic.

Harry sighed, running a hand through his ever-messy hair.

The horcruxes had proved more elusive than expected, and with Dumbledore's increasingly strange behaviour in the Wizengamot, something was definitely amiss.

"If there's a place we haven't explored and is probably housing at least one horcrux, it would be Hogwarts…"

Fleur looked at him worryingly. "I know that. It's just… I don't want you so close to Dumbledore. Especially now that he's gone off his rocker."

Harry listened to her, then did a double-take at the expression she had just used and raised his eyebrows.

"You don't have to worry, love. I'm strong now," Harry said cheekily, and a ring of fire suddenly manifested around them, rotating around itself.

"I know that!" Fleur said with a pout and touched the ring with her hand, her palm passing through the flames without any harm.

The warmth tingled pleasantly against her skin, a testament to how precisely Harry could control his magic now.

She was pretty sure that Harry didn't understand the true significance of his nonverbal, wandless, and gesture-less display.

"I will also come straight home after classes, so we will still be able to goof around no problem," Harry said with a wistful smile.

"I don't think they would allow you to do that," Fleur said and shook her head.

He simply flashed her a cheeky grin. "Who'll stop me?"
