Chapter 730: Zhang Hu and Tang Wei
The leader of the Demon Dragon Palace group was named Zhang Hu.
A level 140 Martial God.
He was a distant uncle of Zhang Mingruo. Due to his mediocre talent, he remained stuck at level 140 despite his advanced age.
Zhang Hu's position as a leader in the Demon Dragon Palace wasn't due to his strength but because he was the palace master's cousin.
Currently…
After entering the Radiant Secret Realm, Zhang Hu quickly regrouped with other members of the Demon Dragon Palace and began searching for valuable resources.
Along the way, they encountered many powerful monsters, all of which Zhang Hu and his subordinates successfully defeated.
Eventually, they stumbled upon this ancient and mysterious grand hall.
Without hesitation, Zhang Hu led his team inside.
After many twists and turns, Zhang Hu found a piece of Rainbow Dragon Scale.
The faint dragon aura emanating from it strongly suggested it was connected to the Radiant Dragon King in the central region—likely one of its dragon scales.
However, this dragon scale seemed to have some kind of restriction or was missing a fragment, preventing it from triggering a special mission.
Typically, obtaining unique items could trigger random missions.
But due to the incomplete state of this Rainbow Dragon Scale, the crucial mission couldn't be activated.
Continuing to explore this labyrinth-like palace, Zhang Hu eventually crossed paths with Adolphus and Ansely.
He noticed that Ansely happened to have another fragment of a Rainbow Dragon Scale.
Zhang Hu instantly realized that her fragment was the missing part needed to complete his scale.
If these two fragments were combined, they would form a complete Radiant Dragon Scale, likely triggering a special mission related to the Radiant Dragon King and its treasure.
Additionally, Adolphus and Ansely were targets specifically named by Yamashita Masahiko, and capturing them could yield a handsome reward.
Thus, Zhang Hu drove away any nearby adventurers.
These adventurers, recognizing the Demon Dragon Palace and Ten Thousand Beasts Alliance uniforms, dared not intervene or entertain thoughts of playing heroes. They immediately withdrew.
The other leader present from the Ten Thousand Beasts Alliance was Tang Wei.
A level 140 Beast Master Apostle.
Younger than Zhang Hu, Tang Wei was much stronger. Among Professionals of the same level, there were distinct differences in strength, and Tang Wei stood out.
Tang Wei had earned his leadership position in the Ten Thousand Beasts Alliance purely through his own strength.
His personality was extremely cautious, and even now, he kept his distance from Adolphus and Ansely, observing coldly from the rear.
"Hand over the dragon scale you're holding!"
"Or I'll make sure you understand what it means to beg for death!"
Zhang Hu licked his lips, his cold, stern expression morphing into a perverted grin as his lecherous eyes roamed over Ansely's curvaceous figure.
The other Demon Dragon Palace and Ten Thousand Beasts Alliance Professionals laughed along, spitting out obscene remarks.
"Boss, why waste time talking to these two? Let's kill the man and take turns enjoying the woman. When we're done, we can hand her over to Yamashita Masahiko!"
"Exactly! It's been too long since I've had any fun, and I've never seen a woman this fine!"
"Not to mention, this little wildcat looks like a challenge to tame. I love breaking spirited ones!"
With that, raucous laughter filled the chamber, dripping with vulgarity and humiliation aimed at Ansely.
"Dream on!"
"I would rather die than hand over the dragon scale or submit to you!"
"If you want it, you'll have to take it over my dead body!"
Ansely's cold, beautiful face remained icy, her eyes frosty and resolute, a hint of unyielding determination flashing in her gaze.
If escape was impossible, she was prepared to end her own life.
She would never let herself be humiliated by this group of animals!
"Very well! Since you insist, we'll grant your wish!"
"Attack!"
Zhang Hu smirked coldly.
But just as he was about to give the order for his subordinates to overwhelm the pair, a voice dripping with ridicule echoed through the chamber.
"Ha! People say the Demon Dragon Palace and Ten Thousand Beasts Alliance are despicable cowards who prey on the weak—a bunch of incompetent drunks and useless scum. Today, I see those rumors are entirely true!"
Huh?
"Who's there!?"
Zhang Hu's expression darkened as he roared, spinning around.
The ever-cautious Tang Wei tensed, his sharp eyes scanning the direction of the voice.
The rest of the group turned toward the chamber entrance, their faces betraying a mix of surprise and unease.
"Hmm? It's you! The Non-Specialist!"
Upon seeing the tall figure step into the chamber, Zhang Hu and Tang Wei's expressions shifted into excitement!
To Zhang Hu and Tang Wei, the name Ling Zhan, the Non-Specialist, was no stranger.
The other Professionals present were confused, as they were unaware of the deeper context.
Zhang Hu and Tang Wei, as mid-level leaders, had been specifically instructed: if they encountered the Non-Specialist Ling Zhan in the Radiant Secret Realm, he was to be killed on sight!
Successfully killing Ling Zhan would count as a major achievement.
The reward? Possibly a Quasi-Sacred Weapon!
A Quasi-Sacred Weapon was the failed result of attempting to forge a Sacred Weapon using a Supreme Spiritual Artifact.
Normally, a failed attempt to create a Sacred Weapon would result in the destruction of the artifact.
However, in rare cases, the base material would remain intact and its attributes would even improve.
Though not a Sacred Weapon, a Quasi-Sacred Weapon was far superior to ordinary Supreme Spiritual Artifacts.
Both the Demon Dragon Palace and Ten Thousand Beasts Alliance had less than five such weapons in their combined arsenals.
Most importantly…
Killing Ling Zhan would also come with an SS-tier skill book and a substantial reward in Holy Crystals!
Generous!
It was outrageously generous!
When this bounty was announced, many mid-level leaders had struggled to contain their excitement.
Some even questioned why a mere level 105 Non-Specialist warranted such a high price.
The elders of the Demon Dragon Palace and Ten Thousand Beasts Alliance had only chuckled cryptically, offering no explanation.
Why?
Because they feared that if the truth about Ling Zhan's strength were revealed, none of these leaders would dare make a move against him.
