Ming Mei was reluctant, but she couldn't resist Kang Chen, so she had to go upstairs to sleep.
The rain outside was still pouring heavily, with the raindrops drumming against the window glass. Ming Mei lay down but couldn't sleep, listening to the rain.
Ming Mei said, "The rain is really heavy..."
Kang Chen nodded, "It hasn't rained for many days. Many areas in the central and western regions are suffering from severe drought; underground water can't even be pumped out. The Minister of Agriculture has been worried lately. This downpour can ease the drought significantly, which is a good thing."
Ming Mei nodded, "It's best if it rains for a couple more days. After such a long drought, I'm afraid this one rain won't alleviate much."
Kang Chen patted Ming Mei's shoulder, "I held meetings with some departments earlier. We must seize the opportunity to ensure the rainy duration in drought areas is prolonged, and artificial rainmaking preparations are in place."
