"Friends? Which friends?"
Grandpa Lan was somewhat skeptical; Lan Zhongxuan had been away for years and had almost no friends in River City.
"Dad, you don't know them." Lan Zhongxuan replied.
"How am I supposed to know if you don't tell me?"
Grandpa Lan was not so easily fooled.
"It's a friend I met outside before. I helped him a little back then. He's now developing in River City, just when I needed to rent a house, he rented me this place."
Of course, Lan Zhongxuan wouldn't tell the whole truth.
"Then your friend must be quite wealthy." Grandpa Lan went up the steps, seeing the villa had a small garden, and the area wasn't small either.
"Hm."
Lan Zhongxuan responded vaguely, thinking the matter was over.
Unexpectedly, Grandpa Lan suddenly asked, "How much is the rent for this house monthly?"
Lan Zhongxuan hesitated for a moment; he knew Grandpa Lan's temper well and casually said, "Ten thousand."
