She embraced him fully; her body was small, not reaching his chest. She could only hug his waist, and every time she tried to embrace his shoulders, it was a struggle even sitting on his lap.
She rested her head against his chest, nuzzling him, and looked up at him.
"I've been back for a while, waiting for you."
Anjue casually placed the stack of files in his hand on the table and lifted her up, their figures sinking into the soft sofa.
"I thought you'd be too busy having fun to come back."
"Not at all, just wandering around, looking at new things."
He smiled and pinched her cheek, "Did you have fun today?"
"It was alright!" She gave a reluctant answer, then pointed to the bag on the table, "It's all because of that bag. But later, the shop owner came and apologized, insisting on giving me the bag as a gift. She wouldn't take money, and I felt bad about it. Could you pay her back next time?"
