As things had calmed down in the forbidden area, Jareth and Zion both decided to go above and see the situation for themselves.
Originally, the elven kingdom wasn't supposed to be affected by the battles below, but Luche's appearance caused trouble, and then the opening of the miasmic rift further escalated things.

The two of them flew up at an insanely fast speed like two rockets and instantly appeared in the sky above.
"They are still trying to evacuate?"
Jareth glanced towards Zion and spoke in his usual cold tone.
"How about you make an announcement in a loud voice to inform them… you are their hero after all; they will trust you more than me…"
Jareth is a human and is an outsider, but Zion is a legendary hero of the elven race; the medal badge hanging on his coat is the proof of that.
"I think they might have already forgotten about me though… no matter how long an elf's life span is due to the harsh conditions of this world, they also end up dying…"
