He could not find the words to comfort her. His only solution was to bring up Yafu, to keep her tethered, to ensure that she would survive for Yafu's sake, no matter what.
Bai Xue stared at him blankly, at a loss as to what he was saying. She didn't understand what he meant by having lost all hope, or by forgetting Yafu. It took her a while to process his words, and she finally caught on, "Are you saying that I tried to commit suicide?"
"Isn't that it?"
"Absolutely not! When did this happen, and why would I commit suicide!" Bai Xue immediately denied it. Commit suicide? Why would she commit suicide! She had Yafu and so many other people and things to care about. There was no way she would take her own life!
"Why do you think you're in the hospital? You overdosed on sleeping pills and lost consciousness, which is why I brought you here!"
"Too many sleeping pills?" Bai Xue frowned, trying to remember when she had taken so many sleeping pills that she needed to be hospitalized.
