Chapter 133 - Alchemy

One small mistake, one misjudged measurement, could mean elimination. Every pair of eyes darted nervously between the ingredients, the delicate glassware, and the Orb of Accord that hovered silently above the tables, its mist swirling as though it could sense the tension and potential of each student.

The courtyard itself seemed transformed for the trial. Long tables gleamed in the sunlight, lined with vials, flasks, mortars, pestles, and the faint scent of herbs and minerals. A soft glimmer of magical energy shimmered around certain containers, marking their importance.

The stones beneath their feet reflected the pale morning light, adding a cold, crystalline quality to the space. A few small fountains of elemental energy bubbled intermittently, reacting subtly to the Orb's presence, reminding the students that even in alchemy, balance and harmony with the elements were critical.
