Since his fiancée is going, why bother calling me?
Valentine Teller felt uncomfortable inside, but she tried her best to endure it.
Her nose tingled, but she wouldn't let tears fill her eyes.
She walked over to the sofa and sat down, casually picked up the documents beside him, and flipped through them. They weren't something she could understand, so she put them back and fixed her gaze on the screen, starting to watch the movie.
Sitting next to Mark Reed felt suffocating, and Valentine Teller decided to go to sleep. Although she wasn't really sleepy, anything was better than sitting awkwardly like this.
She stood up: "I'm going to sleep."
"Go ahead!" Mark Reed put down the files in his hand, frowned at her as if noticing her low mood, and stood up as well: "I'll accompany you."
"No need for you to accompany me!"
"Come."
Mark Reed ignored her refusal, extended his hand, and pulled Valentine Teller into the master bedroom.
