Lightning ravaged the sky. After a series of deafening booms, Paradise Island returned to silence.
Soledad stood on a path bathed in golden light. Charred corpses were visible everywhere, and the air was filled with the sickeningly sweet scent of burnt flesh.
Even those who hid in buildings couldn't escape being struck by lightning. She, however, was unharmed.
Soledad looked down at her limbs, and tears welled in her eyes. If she could avoid death, she naturally didn't want to descend to Hell with those wicked people.
The Thunderous Giant that had obscured the sky vanished.
Dim stars and a shining round moon appeared over Paradise Island. She tilted her head upward, feeling incredibly surprised.
Was that an envoy sent by God?
Soledad had thought she understood this world, but the scene before her seemed to tell her otherwise. She was still very far from grasping the nature of the world. This world was far beyond her imagination.
