"Where's that old lizard heading?"
[I have no idea.]
"Okay, I'm bored and tired now. You take over. Automate the chase."
[Automation initiated.]
The System took over.
Lu Sheng's ghostly form, which had been erratic in its pursuit, suddenly sharpened. His movements turned clean, efficient—each burst of speed perfectly timed.
The gap between him and the golden streak that was Lei Wuji began to close, steadily.
Then, all at once, the air split with a sonic boom.
Lu Sheng shot forward like a missile, his cane swinging straight at Lei Wuji's face.
Lei Wuji glanced back just in time—only to catch a dark blur shooting straight at him.
The old lizard barely managed to raise his golden spear in time, blocking the blow.
"AAAH! ROAR!" he cried out but the impact threw him off balance, killing his momentum.
He began to fall.
Lu Sheng—or rather, the System—didn't let up. It pivoted mid-air and dove straight down.
