Northern wasn't sure how to feel. He sat there, still within the space prison, staring down in blank shock. The pain was intense and world-ending—or at least it felt like his world was ending.

And he'd used an entire year to undergo a transformation thanks to the damn Omniform?

Northern thought deeply about the implications and suddenly felt profoundly grateful to Ul—even though she had no idea what she'd done.

Without her space prison, Omniform's evolution wouldn't have completed anytime soon. The entire process would've been triggered three months from now and he would have been living every day of his life in intense pain.

Northern envisioned that future, three months out. With how Kryos was adapting to his attacks, that future looked bleak. Still, he was confident he'd survive. Having tasted death once, he knew how to evade it.

Right now, though, none of that mattered. What's done was done, and Northern—after three months that felt like three years—was now a Paragon.
