Zixuan practically sprinted into her car the second she opened her phone and read Cecilion's messages.
Panic buzzed in her chest which reached her ears. She even had second thoughts halfway across the streets. Maybe she should've turned around. Maybe she should've spoken to Casper instead about Paige.
Problem solved. But no. She had a more important thing to do—something only Cecilion could know.
The bark-like patch on her skin which completely disappeared—had he done something to lift that stupid curse or whatever bullshit that was? She needed answers and could only hope Cecilion got them.
In the meantime, she didn't really care what Casper might do to Paige. Because deep down, she knew—Casper wouldn't actually hurt anyone. She could confirm it herself—even after what he had done—she knew Casper's a pure soul forced to become a villain in a messed-up world she and Cecilion made.
