Zhulan continued to scrutinize Mrs. Luo after asking her question. There was still a hint of illness on her face, and she was making an effort to stay alert, her seated posture not as straight as it used to be.
Mrs. Luo took a sip of juice to soothe her throat and replied, "Thank you for your concern, Madam, I'm fine now."
Her heart, however, sank at Madam Zhou's questioning, which indicated that the Zhou family had been observing the Luo family all along. The thought made her more troubled.
Zhulan said, "People are afraid of falling ill as they age; you must take good care of yourself."
Feeling the concern, Mrs. Luo relaxed a little. "I plan to recuperate properly once I return home and then spend some time at the manor when I am well enough."
Zhulan locked eyes with Mrs. Luo, "Cultivating oneself sounds good."
