Ruan Jiaojiao woke up around three in the afternoon. As soon as she awoke, she found herself unable to move, as if something was pressing her down. She confusedly opened her eyes and subconsciously lifted her leg, immediately letting out a hiss of pain.

Xiaobai was half-hanging on the bed and half lying on the ground, wrapping its tail around Ruan Jiaojiao's injured left leg to keep her from moving. Hearing her cry of pain, it hurriedly lifted its upper body and twisted around anxiously.

When she was six or seven years old, Xiaobai would still climb onto her bed and act as her natural air conditioner. But as she grew older, its visits became less frequent.
