Caesar rubbed his eyes with his fingers, feeling as though he was hallucinating, but after taking a second look at the woman who was gazing up at him, his eyes dilated and he quickly stood up from his seat.
"Adeline!" He exclaimed and pinched himself just to be sure he wasn't having some kind of desperate dream.
But fortunately for him, it was reality. Adeline, his wife, had woken up. It was almost as if she'd heard him the previous night.
His heart dropped to his stomach in relief and he was quick to grab and pull her into a tight warm hug. "Doll, you're back to me. you came back-"
"Y-you're crushing me. Let go." Adeline hissed in pain and pressed her hands against his chest, pushing him off.
Caesar blinked at her and immediately smiled apologetically at her. "I'm sorry. I was just really… I-I didn't think you'd wake up today and I'm just too happy and that…" He watched her crawl father away from him on the bed, as if trying to protect herself.
