Dimitri bit his lip. He wanted to confront Adeline, but his father had a point, so he swallowed it down, took a deep breath, and nodded at his father.
Mr. Petrov smiled at him. "Let's go."
They left, heading off to their car.
Meanwhile, Caesar who was walking Adeline off towards their car with the things they'd bought, paused and glanced at the spot where Mr. Petrov and Dimitri had initially been standing.
A frown emerged on his face and he dangerously narrowed his eyes.
"Caesar?" Adeline, who'd stopped as well, glanced at the spot he was gazing at before meeting his eyes. "What are you looking at? Is something wrong?"
Caesar smiled at her. "Nothing."
"Are you sure?" She lifted a brow.
He nodded at her, leaning in to kiss her forehead. "I just thought that I saw someone I knew, that is all."
Adeline glanced at the spot again. She nodded and turned to keep moving toward the car.
