And even the main villain had somehow ended up by her side. The realization made her head spin.
This was the first time she had ever heard of having a fiancé, but now that she was beginning to piece everything together, the puzzle was finally starting to make sense. It explained why the so-called villain had supported Old Master Avery, targeted the male leads, and even tried to kill Minerva and Alice. It wasn't because he wanted a share of the Avery estate after its downfall, nor because the Averys were long-time allies of the Hendrix family. It wasn't even about his grandfather's deep-rooted ties to the Avery lineage.
None of that truly mattered.
