It was actually possible for them to stop that from happening as the power that was working on them was not hard to resist. Actually even a normal powerless person would also be able to stop the transfer from happening if they wanted. That was also the reason why this machine was still mostly used as a game and not as an almighty device.

It was possible to give their designed character any kind of look and power that the database of the Prosperous Blossom Conglomerate had. It was also possible to change the gender.
