Chapter 32 - Will Wolf - Entry 5

Thanks to their high affinity for speed, the wolves were flying through the forest. But each stride felt slow and drawn out. Although it wouldn't take them long to reach Hunter, that small timespan was outweighed by the pack's concern. Will wasn't even acknowledging the branches scraping across his face while he ran.

"Ally's Scent" has reacted to Hunter.

"Steps of. . .

"H. . .

Will's tracking skills finally kicked in. But he disregarded most of the notifications that were popping up. Ally's Scent was the only one he needed right now.

A blue ripple swept across Will's vision, drawing him to a glowing dot. He adjusted his course to center the dot in his field of vision and accelerated. The dot led him to the edge of a hollow and disappeared. Hunter was sprawled out on the ground under the foot of the rabbit that was standing on top of him. Will's next stride turned into a leap to pounce on the character.

The rabbit's head started to turn, but their reflexes couldn't weren't fast enough to save them. Will's claws were already around them when their eyes finally met.

Thud!

That moment passed when the rabbit was knocked away from Hunter and pinned beneath Will's paws. The character was so small, Will only needed one to cover their whole chest. Pierce and Grey caught up and helped Will surround the rabbit. Meanwhile, Lupe and Hailey were at Hunter's side attending to his injuries.

Over his shoulder, Will could see the swells and bruises covering Hunter's body. It looked as though he'd taken quite a beating. But since he hadn't disappeared yet, then he was still alive — he was probably just unconscious. Lupe pulled a medical kit out of her jacket and started cleaning Hunter's wounds then applied the gauze. He would be okay. So now, Will could give the rabbit his full attention.

"What did you do to him?" He asked angrily. But the rabbit did not respond

"WHAT DID YOU DO!?" Will growled.

Will began to push his weight down through the arm holding the rabbit. Then a sharp pain shot through his paw.

"OOOOOOOOWW!!!"

Will had to pull his arm back, freeing the rabbit. But Pierce and Grey quickly grabbed its arms before he could run off. Will pulled the Pen Dagger the rabbit had stabbed him with out of his paw and looked back to the rabbit.

"Alright, if that's how you wanna do this."

He gave Pierce and Grey a glance that they understood. The two pulled the rabbit up onto their feet and pushed them toward Will. He kept one of his paws closed to slow the bleeding. But his good paw was now brandishing a set of sharp claws.
