Chapter 2 - Ep 2.1 What a cute puppy rewrite

The sun blazed overhead, bright and unforgiving, as a slick Porsche roared down the winding road. The engine screamed and the tires screeched against the asphalt, the car weaving through traffic with sharp precision. Behind the wheel sat Kyle, his eyes blazing with rage and annoyance — the thought of living with the girl he despised most simmering like a fire inside him.

Pulling up to the sprawling, luxurious villa, Kyle killed the engine and stepped out, stretching his legs but immediately spotting something unsettling. Through the large window, a massive dog stared right back at him, its eyes sharp and unblinking. Kyle knew the villa's owner had a pet, but in his mind he muttered, "That's a big-ass dog."

He remembered the conversation on the phone with his friend just hours earlier.

"Don't worry about my dog," she'd said with a laugh. "He's small, hardly a nuisance. He's more bark than bite, hehe."

Now Kyle's lips twisted into a grimace. Why me? Why does the universe hate me like this? he thought, staring at the towering canine behind the glass. He raised his voice, shouting at the empty sky, "Why, just why, Lord? I swear, the author hates me at this point!"

He wasn't wrong.

Cautiously, Kyle stepped into the villa, eyes darting nervously as he searched for the dog. Suddenly, clank clank clack — heavy paws thundered across the floor. The dog appeared, massive and powerful, gold chains gleaming around its neck as it charged at Kyle with terrifying speed.

Kyle's heart slammed against his ribs as he sprinted away, the dog hot on his heels. He dashed through the hallways, crashing into furniture, barely avoiding the giant beast snapping at his heels.

From the stairwell, a maid appeared, her skin clear and radiant, dressed in crisp black attire. Her curly bob framed a face that was both beautiful and composed.

She paused, watching the chaos unfold — a man running wildly through the house, pursued by a snarling dog, and no knock at the door to announce his arrival.

For a moment, she hesitated. Should she let the dog chase this intruder? Or call her boss to report the strange man running amok in the villa?

The maid's eyes narrowed as she took in the scene—a frantic man darting through the grand halls, chased by the villa's imposing dog. Her fingers instinctively reached for her phone, hovering over the screen.

"Sir! Who—what are you doing here?" she called out firmly, her voice calm but carrying an edge of authority.

Kyle skidded to a halt, breathing hard, glancing back at the dog that had slowed but was still watching him intently.

"I… I'm just here to see—" He swallowed, trying to steady his voice. "I'm here for the girl who lives here."

The maid's gaze sharpened. "You didn't knock. No one expected you. You should never just barge in like this."

Kyle ran a hand through his hair, frustration flickering across his face. "Look, I didn't plan on this whole chase. Your dog is—well, let's just say I'm not a fan."

She sighed softly but made no move to call off the dog just yet. Instead, she stepped forward.

"Wait here. I'll check with my boss."

Kyle nodded, still catching his breath, as the maid pulled out her phone and quickly dialed.
