Rei entered the store, and as expected, several people turned to look at him, staring at him with repulsive expressions. Rei already assumed that this was bound to happen.
In the original story, Alexis was quite a bragger and kept on showing people who passed by how rich he was. This ensued him to become greatly known as the "Deep-pocketed scumbag".
In response to the overwhelming glares, Rei greeted and bowed to them as an apology on Alexis's behalf, feeling embarrassed in possessing this spoiled brat's body.
After that, he pulled a list from his pocket and started to look for the items he needed. However, while he was minding his own business, people still looked at him with loathing eyes, staring at him like he's some sort of criminal on the loose who committed several felonies along the way.
40 minutes passed, and he was almost done with grocery shopping. Just 1 more item left, and he was free. Just as he was about to grab a tray of eggs, he noticed a tall man beside him. Rei turned to look to his side, and was startled.
The man had platinum blond hair, along with red eyes that shined like rubies, almost like gleaming right under the ray of sunlight, revealing its crimson red color.
The man looked like he was around his 20s.
His appearance in general could literally outshine the top 10 most beautiful celebrities.
He wore a black trench coat with a white turtle neck, paired with trousers. He also wore round clear rimmed eyeglasses along with a droplet-shaped pendant worn around his neck, which had a really unique color. Its shiny aqua appearance really looks like it came from an otherworldly universe. The pendant alone made the youthful guy stand out quite much.
Rei felt pretty ashamed just by standing right beside the man.
Before Rei could make any more descriptions about him, he stopped to think and realized, that it was actually the main protagonist, Leon!!
Who else would wear such an expensive, money-worth looking pendant aside from the main character himself!?
Rei hurried to grab the eggs and attempted to run away, until Leon responded to his rushed actions
"Hold on right there."
Rei paused, feeling perplexed. Worried that he might get killed right after spending his first 2 days in his new body. "Ah... hello there... just some citizen shopping, haha.. don't mind me.." Rei responded, feeling extreme anxiety in his heart. It was like his heart would drop down at any second.
"Don't play dumb, you're not some sort of normal citizen. I know that you're Alexis just by looking at your red hair"
Rei choked at his own breath, feeling like he's some sort of escaping criminal who got caught by a police.
He frantically grabbed a hat from his small bag and hurriedly wore it. He prepared a hat incase an incident like this may happen during his peaceful shopping.
He cursed in his mind: "screw this red hair! I'm gonna pull my hair off one by one and buy a wig for my head!"
"You must be mistaken, kind sir. I'm nothing but a mere citizen who has come to shop for my daily needs." Rei answered, trying to sound as innocent and as calm as possible.
A few awkward silences later, Leon interrupted. "I know that you're Alexis, stop playing dumb. I need to talk to you."
Rei prayed in his heart, hoping that the heavens above could spare his life and let him escape his short coming death.
Rei nervously laughed and cautiously asked, "Alright, alright, you caught me. Now what do you need to talk about?"
Leon responded "I heard about what happened to you. You hit your head really hard on a pole while you were drunk. You're so clumsy."
Rei kept his smile as he felt veins pop out his head just from hearing the word 'clumsy' 'excuse you? I have been very observant of my behavior towards others and take good care of myself and my things. What do you mean clumsy!?!?' Rei thought to his mind, feeling the flames of fury rising in his heart.
Rei left out a dry laugh for a short moment and answered
"Haha, sorry about that... things have been rough here and there and I had to drink tons of alcohol to lighten up this bonker head of mine. As a result, I had a bit of too much liquor and couldn't hold back my reckless actions.. ahaha.."
Leon stared at Rei with an indifferent expression, and replied "Be careful."
Upon Leon's response, Rei was slightly surprised by the sudden reply. How can this man be so concerned about me? Is there something I missed while reading the webtoon?
After Rei collected his train of thoughts, he responded, "I will. Thank you for your concern, I appreciate it." Rei curved his lips into a faint yet gentle smile.
Leon turned and walked away, brisk walking.
I felt confused, and wondered if I had said anything wrong to him. I shoved those thoughts aside and sighed in relief, feeling happy that I wasn't murdered on spot by the mc.
Speaking of the mc, I remember that the mc has a love interest, I think her name was... Claria? Yea, Claria. She was the female lead of the webtoon, and was Leon's love interest.
Claria was a commoner and was miraculously enrolled in the most prestigious school, "Eluria Academy". The two of them met when Claria was being bullied by one of the wealthiest people in the whole empire, Lucia and Aris.
The two of them have a relationship of 'master and servant'. Therefore, they always go together in pairs no matter where the 'master' goes.
Anyway, the mc noticed their evil deeds and rushed to protect the female lead. And so, they hung out ever since then became inseparable lovers.
I shrugged off the remaining uneasy feelings inside and headed towards the counter to pay for my groceries.
After the uncomfortable cashier checked out my items, I exited the store and walked my way home.
20 minutes later, I finally arrive at my luxurious home. Although the mansion was quite big and could fit a total of 100 people, only I was residing in it. The only things keeping me company are my thoughts and my own presence.
In fact, in my original world, I also lived alone and felt a bit lonely. I cooked by myself, watched movies and webtoons alone, and the only person I ever hung out with all my life is me. Who knew that in another world, I would also still continue to live by myself? Quite laughable honestly.

"Huh, I wonder who's visiting me at this time? I'm not expecting any visitors right now.."
I walked to the front door, and looked through the peephole leading outside the door. I checked, and surprisingly, it was Leon, all beat up. His body was covered in bruise, all black and blue. He looked like he was in a pretty vulnerable situation.
