Chapter 453 - Chapter 500-501 – Captain Draws Template

Ain felt that Arton's enjoyment of Kaya's lap pillow was directly related to Kaya's increasingly full thighs.

After all, Arton had commented that Kaya's lap pillow was more comfortable than a regular pillow.

"If I could get a template similar to Tsunade's, my bust would increase significantly. My thighs, hips, and even other parts of my body would gradually become more mature." Ain murmured to herself. "Then, Arton might even be willing to lie on my lap."

Just thinking about Arton potentially recording her while enjoying her lap pillow and thus gaining more points through Arton's diary system to enhance herself, Ain couldn't help but feel genuinely envious of Kaya once again.

"And, if I had Kaya's medical skills... I could heal Zephyr-sensei's arm." Ain sighed and said. "That way, his pain would be greatly reduced."

This was her second reason for wanting a template similar to Tsunade. However, she knew the Flame Blade Pirates already had a ship's doctor.

Generally speaking, Arton wouldn't need a second ship's doctor. In other words, the possibility of Arton choosing to grant her a template with medical skills was very low.

Moreover, even if Arton did draw a character template with medical skills, that template wouldn't necessarily possess a body like Tsunade's.

Thinking of this, Ain sighed again.

She turned her gaze to the diary copy, only to find that Arton had already turned off the live stream.

He had even temporarily stopped recording in the diary.

"I see, Captain Arton has finished today's recording. Now he's about to draw a prize... wait, is Captain Arton planning to draw a template?!"

Ain, who was in the lookout room, instantly stood up, her eyes wide.

"Wh...what's wrong, Ain?" Tashigi, who was also in the lookout room observing the surroundings, looked over in confusion.

"Senior Tashigi, Arton is about to draw a template." Ain said excitedly.

"Draw a template?" Tashigi blinked, looking at her diary template, "I see. Has Captain already accumulated enough points to draw a template?"

"Um, could you please not call me 'senior,' Ain?" Tashigi said, a little embarrassed.

"No, you are indeed my senior." Ain shook her head. "Whether we were in the Navy or as pirates."

For her now, Tashigi was someone she admired and envied.

Both had Navy backgrounds, but Tashigi had become Arton's partner before her and obtained a powerful template from him.

It was impossible not to envy her.

"Senior Tashigi, what kind of template do you think Captain Arton will draw?" Ain asked. Although excited, Ain didn't lose her composure. "Will that template suit me?"

She remembered that Arton's templates had usage conditions.

For a user to use a template that Arton had drawn through the system, at least three of their own attributes needed to correspond to the template's three attributes.

The more corresponding attributes, the higher the user's compatibility with the template.

But if the three attribute conditions weren't met, Ain understood that if that were the case, using the template would be impossible even if she wanted to.

Therefore, Ain was even more nervous than before.

She was terrified that the outcome would be something she didn't want to see.

Chapter 501: Ain: I Really Want to Improve!

Tashigi shook her head and said to Ain, "Um… I can't really answer that. And you should calm down first, Ain. From Captain's last note in the diary, it looks like he's still debating whether to do a template draw. So he might not necessarily choose to draw right now."

"T-That… he's not drawing?" Ain swallowed, her nerves spiking even harder.

"After all," Tashigi continued, "the points Captain Arton has right now only cover one most basic draw. Sure, it's not like there's zero chance a basic draw can hit a high-tier template, but the odds are way too low—honestly, even pulling an ordinary template from a basic draw isn't very likely."

Hearing that, Ain finally cooled down a little.

Right—since Arton had only drawn not long ago, he didn't have many points saved up at all.

The odds of him reliably pulling a strong template were just too small.

A basic draw might only get him something like an Observation Haki awakening voucher.

And honestly, even that kind of reward would already shock the whole world outside.

After all, Observation Haki and Armament Haki were incredibly hard to train, and something like Conqueror's Haki was even more special—some people could train their whole lives and still never awaken it.

A reward that could perfectly help someone awaken Haki—how could it not be insanely attractive?

If it were earlier, Ain would've thought that kind of reward was amazing too.

But for Ain—who wanted a powerful template—this was still far from enough.

After witnessing how strong templates were and realizing how special they were, Ain valued templates even more.

Even if some templates didn't necessarily work well against certain Logia users, she could always stack Haki on top of it to deal with those kinds of enemies.

"Y-You're right. I got too excited," Ain sighed, sitting back down again. "I should wait until Captain Arton saves up enough points before I start hoping he'll draw."

Before this, she'd even been thinking about asking Tashigi to stay in the lookout room and keep watch, while she went to find Arton and ask when he'd give her a template.

Of course, she couldn't say anything about the diary directly—but Ain felt like if she begged Arton a little, maybe it would push him into committing to a draw.

But now, she felt like rushing over there wouldn't be a good move.

Even if Arton took pity on her and decided to draw, the odds of the result being a template were still just too low.

"Anyway… I'll take it slow. You have to trust Captain Arton," Tashigi said, patting Ain on the shoulder. "Since he's already accepted you as a member of the Flameblade Pirates, he'll definitely give you a template."

"You're right, Senior," Ain exhaled, then looked up at her. "Um… Senior Tashigi, can I ask you for a favor?"

"What is it?" Tashigi looked at Ain curiously. Even though she still felt shy about being called senior, she did have a soft spot for Ain—someone with a similar background—and she was very willing to help.

"It's not anything hard," Ain said, cheeks faintly red but expression firm. "I just wanted to ask… can I see the doujin Captain Arton created with you as the heroine? If possible, I want to study it. Seriously."

"S-Study…?" Tashigi, who had been perfectly calm a second ago, instantly flushed.

She never would've imagined that Ain—who looked so earnest and pure—would say something like that, and to her, no less.

Did she really look like the kind of person who could casually share that sort of pictures?

"Is… is it not okay?" Ain pressed her lips together and looked at Tashigi hopefully.

"T-That… okay. Fine," Tashigi forced herself to breathe, then said, "but I want to see yours too."

Just like Ain, she wanted to learn from other people's doujins.

If anything, she wanted new knowledge even more urgently than Ain did.

After all, she was one of the few on the ship who could actually turn that knowledge into "real combat."

If it meant making sure Arton would be happier when he was with her, Tashigi was absolutely willing to broaden her horizons through other people's works.

The problem was, with her personality, it was hard for her to ask the other crewmates outright.

Ain showing up and bringing it up herself, from a certain angle, was basically handing Tashigi exactly what she'd been wanting.

"Of course," Ain nodded hard. If she was going to look at someone else's works, offering her own was the bare minimum—Ain understood that.

"You can look," Tashigi said shyly as she pushed her panel in front of Ain. "I already flipped it to the Doujins tab."

"Okay… then here's mine—" Ain started, about to push her own panel over too.

But Tashigi shook her head. She didn't want to get so sucked into the images that she neglected her duties.

There was no helping it—what was in those works was just too captivating.

Maybe it was because the male and female leads were people deeply tied to Tashigi herself; whenever she looked at that stuff, she couldn't help but get drawn in.

And that meant if she viewed it while she was supposed to be working, she'd very likely neglect her lookout duties.

That wasn't what Tashigi wanted.

"You look first, Ain," Tashigi said. "At least one of us has to do the lookout room work, right?"

"Ah… you're right, Senior," Ain said apologetically—along with a deeper feeling of respect.

Even now, Tashigi was still thinking about work.

Meanwhile, Ain had gotten distracted by other things.

The more Ain thought about it, the more guilty she felt.

"Then I'll look later too," Ain said seriously. "I'll monitor the surroundings with you."

"T-Then… okay," Tashigi said, and seeing Ain's determined eyes, she didn't try to talk her out of it.
