Because the current situation had changed… Before, only Arcane was present, but now both Arcane and Clarion energy were woven together. If one called upon Arcane alone, the individual cards would no longer respond. And so… Origin became the word most often spoken in ancient times, for it acknowledged the fusion of both Arcane and Clarion, a name that bound them into one.
That's why, when Aether noticed Aqualina's card refusing to emerge, he understood it had definitely changed as well… Origin might indeed be the right word.
Still, his curiosity sharpened the moment he saw Aqualina staring at her card with an expression almost frozen in disbelief.
"Was it changed too much, or what?" he asked with confusion, his brows drawing together. Yet Aqualina continued to stare at the card, silent and unresponsive, as if no sound in the world could pierce the haze that bound her eyes to its surface.
