"Tsk!"
Following AR15's pointing finger, Renault's eyes twitched.
Just what he feared most had come to pass!
"Hmm, I think this is a good thing! Now that this guy has surfaced, we don't have to go into the water!"
Executioner, however, subconsciously scratched her head, then awkwardly brandished her barrier-breaking axe when she realized she was wearing a power armor helmet.
She then gestured about which part to chop to dismember this behemoth, tens of meters tall.
"Don't have to go into the water? That's unlikely. That guy doesn't seem to have any intention of coming ashore. Do you think it'll respond if you call it?"
Looking at the massive mutant in the lake, Intruder said weakly.
If she had known she would encounter this strange thing, she would have insisted on finding a doll to switch places with!
What do you mean it's a good thing to be out and about! This hardly looks like a good thing!
Just those countless tentacles are enough to give anyone a headache; if they're not careful, they might actually be dragged into the water by this thing!
"Hey! You octopus! Look this way!"
But clearly, Executioner didn't understand the sarcasm in Intruder's words, thinking she was sincerely offering advice.
After Executioner shouted, the doll next to her looked helplessly at this stubborn girl, thinking.
How could this possibly lure that thing to the shore...?
Unexpectedly, after Executioner finished speaking, the giant creature in the lake seemed to have heard her shout and suddenly roared toward the sky!
"Roar!"
And as the creature roared, the tentacles that had been merely writhing around this mutant now began to grow like vines!
Countless tentacles, each at least as thick as a bowl, stretched out directly toward the doll group on the shore and the gunship in the sky!
"It actually reacted!?"
This unusual phenomenon startled the dolls present, but HK416 quickly realized, "No, that thing probably didn't hear Executioner's shout. It's probably just reacting to the surrounding metal objects!"
Whether it was their power armor or the gunship in the sky, these things were almost entirely made of steel and metal!
Plus, this mutant dragged the cargo plane wreckage into its body…
Undoubtedly, this was a special habit of this mutant… Didn't you see that not a single tentacle lunged at Renault? It was as if they hadn't even noticed his presence!
"Hey! This isn't fair! Why isn't the Commander getting any attention?!" Nagant shouted, raising the grenade launcher on her arm and firing at the approaching tentacles.
Boom boom boom!
HK416 and the others weren't idle either.
How could they just stand there like idiots, waiting for these tentacles to drag them into the water and devour them?! Absolutely not!
Crack!
Just as the grenades and machine gun shells exploded, the tentacles shattered like glass; even the sound was somewhat similar.
"It's working! This thing's defense isn't that great!" Nagant Revolver exclaimed excitedly, watching the shattered tentacles.
She had only used ordinary frag grenades, the most basic kind, but she hadn't expected them to have such a good effect on this thing!
"Not at all! These are just its tentacles! Look over there! Another huge swarm is charging!"
After firing a round of machine gun shells, HK416 stopped to check on the mutant's condition.
Aside from having a small piece of its tentacles knocked off, the creature's main body remained completely unresponsive, showing no intention of moving. Instead, it spawned a massive new swarm of tentacles, raining down on them like a tidal wave!
"Hey! Simonov! Quick, do something! Give that thing's main body a good hit!" Since the tentacles' defenses weren't great, the main body's defenses were probably no better!
Perhaps a single armor-piercing round from the gunship's tank could completely destroy this behemoth!
Hearing AK47's words, Simonov, who was maneuvering the airship in the sky, angrily shouted, "Easy for you to say! I'm the only one on this gunship! Why don't one of you come up and help me?!"
Annoyed by Simonov's shout, Renault scratched his head.
When he modified the gunship, to save trouble, he hadn't installed a control module that could connect to the doll communication system on the gunship's control equipment. The gunship could only be manually controlled via its onboard controller.
After all, he had plenty of T-dolls at home; finding one or two to act as gunners was more than enough.
When he came down, he thought that even if he encountered mutants, they would be ordinary mutants, only four or five meters tall, and the gunship's weapons might not be needed.
But this damn mission had given him a huge surprise—a behemoth over thirty meters tall! Even the gunship's tank cannon might not be able to take it down!
Renault didn't think the creature's defenses were weak. The layers of metal within its body alone were enough to withstand armor-piercing rounds!
"AR15! Run away, let Simonov pick you up!" Renault spoke, pulling out his grenade launcher, wondering where to aim to damage the mutant.
While Nagant and her team weren't currently facing any immediate safety risks, this was only temporary.
The mutant's tentacles were endless, but their ammunition was limited!
In just a short time, they had already used up nearly half of their ammunition reserves!
If this continued, being dragged into the fray was practically inevitable.
While Simonov was distracting a large group of tentacles, NZ75 kept a close eye on them. She noticed that the tentacles stopped about 500 meters from the main body!
"These tentacles' attack range is only 500 meters!"
Hearing NZ75's words, Renault immediately sheathed his weapon.
"Retreat."
They came to find something, not to foolishly fight to the death. Fighting this thing to the death here wouldn't earn them a penny more from Gerald's side.
"Understood!" Even Executioner who was currently hacking away with her barrier-breaking axe immediately responded to Renault's words.
She just liked fighting; she wasn't stupid.
