"Envoy Jiang, this way please." Eunuch Lan bowed respectfully to Jiu E.

Jiu E was dumbfounded. What situation was this? He was an envoy, entitled to reside within the Palace.

But it was only when he had exited the Palace gates that he realized the Emperor of Daxuan was no longer accommodating him. He could come and go as he pleased, but would have to pay for his own lodging and meals from then on.

Is there such a thing?
