Chapter 23 - System Locked

"Know your place, Itimaxe," Kaun said firmly, his voice carrying an authority that seemed to shake the very air around him. Without another word, he turned on his heel and left the battlefield.

The voice of the man—#@&@#&—fell silent. For the first time, he could feel the immense gap in power between Kaun and himself. His arrogance, his confidence, even his raw strength—all of it paled before the presence of Kaun. For a long moment, he lingered, seething, before finally retreating quietly, vanishing without another word.

Kaun returned to the office, settling himself comfortably into a high-backed sofa. His movements were calm, almost leisurely, but the aura of authority around him was palpable. The CREATOR, watching the proceedings remotely, addressed him.

[#@&@#& asks: Where did you send him? He isn't able to locate him.]

Kaun exhaled slowly, his sharp eyes narrowing. "I don't know for certain. My intention was to send him to the Rise of East Continent, but I was interrupted by that man. I suspect he has been transmigrated somewhere… in a remote area, far from the prying eyes of the Tower."

On the Desert

The desert stretched endlessly, waves of heat rising in distorted, flickering mirages. Shiddharth plummeted from the sky, screaming at the top of his lungs. His voice was swallowed by the vast emptiness. "Is anyone here?! Please help meee!"

But no one came. The desert was empty, devoid of life. Only the whistling wind answered his cries.

He hit the ground with a bone-jarring impact. Pain shot through every part of his body. He could feel his bones rattle, his lungs burn, and his consciousness flicker at the edges. He was alive—but barely. Movement was agony. His mind floated in and out of awareness, struggling to maintain focus as darkness slowly crept in.

And then… he finally succumbed to the black void of unconsciousness.

After Ten Days

When Shiddharth's eyes opened, he found himself in a dim, rocky cave. The scent of something pungent—almost unbearably foul—hit his nostrils. He coughed violently, gagging, and bolted outside to take in fresh air.

Standing near a small fire, stirring a bubbling mixture, was a man named Himanshu. His expression was neutral, almost businesslike.

"You woke up," Himanshu said. "More energy than a normal patient who's been unconscious for days."

"What the hell are you cooking?" Shiddharth asked, waving his hands in front of his face. The smell was truly repulsive.

"This?" Himanshu gestured toward the bubbling concoction. "It's your medicine. You need it to restore your condition. It won't regrow your left arm, but it will help with your wounds and internal recovery."

Shiddharth's eyes widened. "What? No way, I'm not drinking that… that… hellish sludge!"

Himanshu's voice hardened slightly. "You don't have a choice. If you don't drink it, your condition will worsen over time. Believe me—you need this to survive."

Shiddharth hesitated, his pride and disgust warring with reason. The pain in his body reminded him that he was not invincible here. Finally, he swallowed hard and took the medicine, grimacing as it slid down his throat.

Immediately after, his status window updated.

He opened his inventory to check the Dragon Sword. The once mighty weapon was in pieces.

[Broken Dragon Sword: The Dragon Sword is broken. Please find the other parts to restore it.]

Shiddharth stared at the fragments, clenched fists trembling, rage and determination coiling within him.

"Hey, stop dazing around! Come help me. We need food, and that means hunting monsters," Himanshu said, hefting a crude sword and passing some of the old weapon fragments to him.

Shiddharth ignored the old weapons and drew a gleaming SSS-class sword that looked untouched, pristine, and formidable.

"What the fuck are you doing with that junk?" Himanshu asked, eyebrows furrowing as he stared at the weapon.

"This? Junk? This is an SSS-class weapon," Shiddharth said, voice calm but eyes burning with quiet pride.

"SSS-class?" Himanshu scoffed. "You're still living in Tower fantasy land. That sword is worthless here. If you don't believe me, try breaking the one I gave you with that junk."

Shiddharth swung his SSS-class blade against Himanshu's sword. Sparks flew, and the impossible happened—the SSS-class weapon shattered. Shiddharth stared, dumbfounded. His mind raced. So outside the Tower, the balance of power shifts… even my strongest sword can't compare.

Himanshu handed him the other weapon fragments again, gesturing sharply. "Now take that. Your right hand works fine. Come with me—we have monsters to hunt."

Without another word, Shiddharth followed. His mind burned with questions, frustration, and determination. He was stripped of his powers, forced to start again—but the fire in him was unbroken.
