The silence in the room became louder as the statement kept repeating in my head.
"Was it a lie?"
"Could anyone ever create a counterfeit?"
"They did have plans of beating us at our own game."
"I guess this is beneficial to you." He said loudly from the other end.
Although I couldn't make out his facial expression, I could tell he was proud of this moment.
And why should I believe what you just said?
"Because I'm no longer on their side."
"But you came on Luca's behalf." I said with a sneer.
"I'm only here because it was the right thing to do."
I stayed quiet for another few seconds, trying to analyze what was at stake at the moment.
"Aren't you worried about your sister?" I asked, switching the narrative earlier.
"Personally, I'd want her dead." Shyin, he said, his tone harsh and sharp.
"Why would he want her dead? I thought the Chaplins were the only ones with ulterior motives."
