Chapter 4 - A sudden flash

"Let's go. The warehouse is only three miles away from the river."

Hannah and I nodded at her and followed her to the bridge.

'Why do I feel like something bad is coming '

...

We venture into the darkness not having the slightest idea what supprises we might encounter.

"There. That's the warehouse."

There is an square shaped door connected to the side of a mountain.

'It's more like a carved in cave instead of a warehouse '

Sarah took Hannah's hand and sped up to the door.

'What's happening? Why do I have a strong feeling something dangerous is near.'

I have always been pranked by Sarah since we were young especially when in wilderness training which her dad took us when he's free. Over the years of training I've gained some leen muscles and developed a higher perception.

I decided to trust my danger sense and tried to point out the location of the danger.

'It's behind me. Is it waiting f6us to open the door. May be it's a thief or a fugitive. Mountain lions will attack the moment they saw us though I'm supprised we didn't encounter one. May they sleep at night too right?'

'I better be careful. If I'm right he'll attack us the moment we open the door..

Yes, I'll do that. I can't risk them being injured.'

I grabbed my knife tighter and went near the girls.

"How do we open it."

"Just give me moment."

Sarah placed her hand in the left corner of the door.

*Click*

The door is metal. I couldn't see it before but now that I can hear the screeching sound of a mechanism running I know it is.

'It's better this way but..'

"How do we close the door Sarah?"

"Oh, just press the right corner. Though anyone can close the door, only somone allowed can open it. My dad said it's my mother who designed it. She's quite the smart person huh."

While Sarah was thinking about her mom the door started opening from left side to the right.

'It's opened enough to push them in. Looks like he's getting impatient.'

"Sam, I think someones wa.."

Before she could complete her sentence she was pushed inside the cave and door suddenly started closing.

Sarah quickly balanced herself and dashed towards the door but she bumped into Hannah and they both fell down. Sarah's eyes widened looking at the closed door.

"Come on open up."

She know what happened. Sam most likely found out someone was spying on them before her and he pushed them in to save them.

"He's stupid. I have a gun why didn't he let me fight instead.. "

Actually, it would have been the better choice since a gun is better than a rusty knife. What she didn't know was that Sam's danger sense quickly thought of the perfect plan because he felt that a gun won't work on whatever was spying on them.

The door finally opened and Sarah dashed out.

"SAM"

To her utter surprise, Sam wasn't there nor was the feeling of being watched. It means whatever there was it had either took Sam or they both had ran away from there.

"No, Sam where are you?"

Tears started flowing down her cheeks. She just wanted to find her little brother.

...................

A minute before*

Sam knew that danger is slowly approaching them. He chose to save his friends before thinking about anything.

He pushed Sarah in to the cave and then Hannah. He quickly touched the right side of the door and it started closing even before it was fully open.

Happy about his plan going well but he didn't have the luxury to linger on it.

Sam felt something coming for his neck, he instinctively crouched down and sprinted away toward the river where trees were smaller and moonlight gave better vision.

*Whoosh*

Sam didn't even bother to look back. All he was that he was running at a speed he had never before. Maybe it's the sudden rush of adrenaline or something but he didn't care. He only stopped after he ran to other side of the bridge much faster than he could have.

'grahh'

He wanted to screem. His legs were feeling numb. He didn't know how or why. All he knows is that he's feeling much stronger in the face of this unknown danger .

'What the f*ck is this?'

Sam saw something standing on the other side of the bridge. It came there right after he looked back so he know that's the thing that came after him.

There stood a burley figure of darkness. It's clearly not human. A mouth or better a snout like a dog, a body like a wrestler, a face that shouts the only word ; werewolf.

Sam didn't have the luxury to comprehend his thoughts because the werewolf suddenly dashed towards him. Sam know he's weaker than his opponent but he didn't want to die.

Everything started to slow down. The werewolf was halfway through the bridge. Sam saw a hand infront of him. A knife giving a holy aura with a blue light covering it was in the grasp pf the hand. He know it's his hand. It's going forward with his legs running towards his enemy.

'What's happening? Who's doing this? How am I doing this?'

Sam couldn't help but wonder. He know he's not this fast and it's clearly not adrenaline because he can see the blue aura covering his hands and legs too. Infact it's covering his whole body.

*SPLURT*

"GRAHHH"

Sam was standing on the opposite side of the bridge from where he stood before.

The werewolf was on the other side but he's on the ground.

Sam looked at where they crashed. There stood a leg cleanly cut from a body still standing like it's a trophy.

"Grauuh"

The werewolf turned towards Sam with the help of his hands.

Sam know he's feeling lot stronger right now as the blue aura still covering him and he has heard about werewolves heals faster from movies and he's not going to wait for a confirmation.

*Swoosh*

"graa"

'why did I think it was easy prey? This thing clearly wasn't strong like this a moment ago'

That's was the werewolf's last thoughts as his conscious faded away looking at the confused face of the human infront of him.

Sam has his knife attached to the back of werewolf's head and the blue aura was fading when suddenly his rusty old knife flashed in a blinding color that Sam fell on his butt still his hands glued to the knife and fell aside the dead wolf.
